html -----Freemason Presidents in Africa: Ali Bongo ordained Grand Master of Gabon The grand master of the National Grand Lodge of France (GLNF) installed Ali Bong o as the head of Gabonese Freemasonry, a couple of weeks ago. The title was, unt il June this year, held by the former President Omar Bongo. About one thousand i nfluential politicians practice freemasonry in Gabon. Just like his father, Ali Bongo is expected to mobilize the Masonic network in order to establish his legi timacy and authority in Gabon and the world. Ali Bongo, the new Gabonese President, Wednesday, November 4, launched the World Conference of Regular Freemasonry in Libreville. His father, Omar Bongo, who ki cked the bucket on the 8th of June, 2009, had vehemently fought for the organiza tion of the masonic forum to take place in the central African country and would have naturally jump for joy to welcome his "brethren" from all over the world. Ali Bongo, his heir, not only inherited the opportunity to hold the conference b ut also mount the vacant Gabonese Freemason throne. According to the French weekly Le Nouvel Observateur, the cream of French Freema sons in Libreville, including Alain Bauer former Grand Master of the Grand Orien t de France (from 2000 to 2003) and special adviser for terrorism and crime at t he French presidency, after participating in Omar Bongo s funeral ceremonies insta lled Ali Bongo as head of the two local branches of the lodge, which count some one thousand members. Francois Stifani, the grand master of the National Grand Lodge of France (GLNF), one of the largest Masonic orders with 38 000 members, was in Libreville two we eks ago to ordain Ali Bongo, who until then occupied the rank of Assistant Grand Master, i.e.; at least three levels below the peak of the hierarchy. At age 53, Ali Bongo has become the grand master of the Grand Lodge of Gabon (GLB) and the Grand Equatorial Rite, the two predominant Freemason orders in Gabon. Ali Bongo and his father For Ali Bongo, this promotion is as important as his presidential title. Having gone through a difficult election, the neophyte President needs the "fraternal" networking machine to help consolidate his authority. The strategy was developed and successfully applied by his father, the late Omar Bongo. Omar established t he Masonic order as an ante-chamber to serve as a recruitment unit for his key a llies, and also as an infallible source of allegiance to consolidate his power. Initiated first as a member of the Masonic Lodge in 1953, that is, fourteen year s before becoming president in November 28, 1967, Omar Bongo, also regarded as a religious chameleon who switched from Catholicism to Islam, and vice versa, not by virtue of whim but by hidden interests, founded two separate Masonic orders in Gabon to bind his "brethren" across the French political sphere: the Grand Ri te Equatorial affiliated with Great Orient (GO) which is left wing oriented, and the Grand Lodge of Gabon (GLG), linked to the National Grand Lodge of France (G LNF), closer to the French right wing. To gain Bongo s trust, a politician was exp ected to adhere to at least one of the two orders. Almost the entire Gabonese ru ling political class is part of the lodge.

Those who refuse to submit to these dictates are banished or ridiculed. Intervie wed by Le Nouvel Observateur, Ernest Tomo, pastor of an evangelical church and a n unsuccessful presidential candidate in August, accused the Gabonese "brethren" of orchestrating his low electoral score (308 votes, or 0.09% votes). Standing as a candidate in the 2005 presidential elections against Omar Bongo, E rnest Tome withdrew from the race after a "divine" intervention, he was later in vited to join the government, where the former President appointed him as Minist er of State and a member of the Presidential Cabinet, responsible for religious affairs. He was neither given a service car, an office nor a staff to work with. During a public meeting, Omar Bongo gave his reasons: "If you re not there, we do not see you. And we do not consider you for what you are." The man of God had b latantly refused to be initiated by the Freemasons. Now holding the reins of Masonic power, Ali Bongo is almost certain to consolida te his power. Some of his fiercest opponents, like Andre Mba Obame, former presi dential candidate and a childhood friend and a lodge member, may even come to th eir senses. France-Afrique Freemasonry? Just like in Gabon, Freemasonry is very present at the very top in many African states. Denis Sassou Nguesso, the Congolese president, Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Congo Brazzaville is linked to the National Grand Lodge of France; Pre sident Mamadou Tanja of Niger; Chad s Idriss Deby and Franois Boziz of the Central A frican Republic are among at least twelve African presidents linked to the trois points (three points) brothers. Their adherence to this society is more often than not the cause of misfortune f or their various countries. Their western counterparts on the other hand act dif ferently. As their western counterparts do all in their power to consolidate dem ocracy in their countries to enhance development, Freemasons within the African political circles mostly rule their countries with iron fists, while robbing the widow and orphan , contrary to the main objective of the Lodge, which seeks to pro tect the widow and the orphan . After a 42 year rule in a country naturally blessed with oil resources, like one of the prosperous Gulf states, Omar Bongo left Gabon in economic shambles and a mong the very poor countries category (HIPC). His former father-in-law, Sassou N guesso has also been accused of the same corrupt practices. Both appeared on a r ecent list which denounced African leaders with ill-gotten wealth. Their godfathers from the French lodge, by virtue of their silence, have condone d these practices. The Nouvel Observateur article mentions how Omar Bongo, known for his generosity towards his friends showered his French "brethren" with gift s. Only a few years ago, a huge financial gift from Denis Sassou Nguesso to the GLNF was widely criticized. Equally linked to Masonic networks, although nothing is known of his adhesion to the Freemasons, Paul Biya of Cameroon recently dona ted a large sum of money to l Ordre Souverain du Temple Initiatique, in a backdrop of poverty in his own backyard. Mr. Biya is known for his expansive generosity towards gurus and esoteric groups. Largesse made possible by Cameroonian taxpaye rs money. Italian Justice Minister Quits in Scandal Over Masonic Lodge Justice Minister Quits in Scandal Over Masonic Lodge The Associated Press International News PM Cycle May 23, 1981

ROME - Justice Minister Adolfo Sarti resigned today after his name was linked to a Masonic lodge that prosecutors are investigating as a possible "criminal asso ciation." The widening lodge scandal has led to the arrest of a former colonel in the Ital ian secret service and threatened Premier Arnaldo Forlani's 7-month-old coalitio n government. Italian newspapers and magazines have alleged that the so-called "P2" lodge was involved in a variety of illegal activities ranging from bribery and tax evasion in the oil industry to a far-reaching plot to set up an authoritarian regime in Italy. The names of top politicians, businessmen, publishers, diplomats and military of ficers were on a list of 953 lodge members Forlani released to the press two day s ago under pressure from Parliament. Two cabinet members were on the list: Mini ster of Foreign Commerce Enrico Manca, a Socialist, and Labor Minister Franco Fo schi, a Christian Democrat. Sarti, who has helped direct Italy's battle against terrorism, was not named, bu t documents found in the home of the lodge's grand master reportedly says he was a candidate for membership. Sarti, in a letter to Forlani, denied he had attempted to join the lodge, but sa id he was forced to leave the government because his name had been tainted in a "slanderous campaign." His resignation was announced after a 15-minute meeting w ith Forlani, a fellow Christian Democrat. The Italian constitution prohibits secret associations, and if the P2 lodge were in fact secret, membership in it would be outlawed. On Friday, Milan prosecutor Pierluigi Dell'Osso issued an arrest warrant for Gra nd Master Licio Gelli on charges of political espionage and the procuring of inf ormation on state security. Gelli is listed as a fugitive outside Italy. A parliamentary committee investigating the case has said it suspects the lodge helped stage the phony kidnapping of Italian financier Michele Sindona in 1979. Sindona is currently serving a 25-year prison term in the United States after be ing convicted on 65 counts of fraud in the collapse of the Franklin National Ban k. He is also being tried on charges of staging an 11-week kidnapping before his fraud trial.

Book Says KGB Used Freemasonry To Penetrate Secret Service Book Says KGB Used Freemasonry To Penetrate Secret Service The Associated Press SECTION: International News Thursday, PM cycle 26 January 1984 LONDON - A book published today says the Soviet KGB used Freemasonry to get spie s into top British intelligence jobs, and that its biggest success was the namin g of the late Sir Roger Hollis as head of MI5 counter-intelligence in 1956.

The book says the KGB instructed spies to become Freemasons, then exploited what author Stephen Knight calls Freemasonry's "jobs for the brethren" network to pl ace spies in senior positions in MI5 and the MI6 Secret Intelligence Service. Knight says in the book, "The Brotherhood: The Secret World of the Freemasons," that he believes Hollis become a member of the secret society when he worked for a tobacco company in Shanghai in China in the 1930s. Knight's book says Hollis was initially rejected by MI5 on grounds of health and talent, but then was accepted in the service by a fellow Freemason and enjoyed a rapid series of promotions. Hollis was director-general of MI5 from 1956-65. Chapman Pincher, defense specia list of the London newspaper, the Daily Mail, created a furor in March 1981 when he charged in his book, "Their Trade Is Treachery," that Hollis was a Soviet ag ent. Knight says he has a copy of a secret memorandum warning of the dangers of KGB i nfiltration of Freemasonry, written in 1981 by a British diplomat who worked wit h MI6 for nearly 20 years. He does not name the diplomat. The book says the memorandum notes it is inconceivable Freemasonry could be pers uaded to act to Soviet advantage, but presents many chances for covert exploitat ion. Previous books by the 32-year-old author include "Jack the Ripper: the Final Sol ution," which alleges a cover-up by Freemasons over Victorian London's notorious murderer of prostitutes. The murderer was never caught. Freemasonry is an international society espousing brotherliness, charity and mut ual aid. It is known as the Free and Accepted Masons, the Ancient Free and Accep ted Masons, or simply as the Masons in the United States. With more than 6 million adherents, it is believed the largest secret society in the world. Freemasons claim roots going back to antiquity. But reference books say the orde r probably derives from English and Scottish fraternities of stonemasons and cat hedral builders in the Middle Ages. The exclusively male society, which insists members guard absolute secrecy, is o rganized in self-governing national authorities known as Grand Lodges. Reference books say the first Grand Lodge is believed to have opened in London in 1717 an d that others opened in other European countries in 1800. Freemasons number prominent men from many walks of life in their ranks. The Duke of Kent, the cousin of Queen Elizabeth II, is the head of English Freemasonry. He was installed with the title Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of Englan d in 1967. Many leading members of the American Revolution also were members, including Geo rge Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock and Paul Revere.
