LIGHT CUES OF MADBETH

1. Audience enters : - PRESET [house music]

Curtain lights, Front Foot light and top light on chair. House light on.

2. Audience settles down ; [house music and house light goes down.]

Passage light on. Kalyan ENT. Opening speech. Kalyan EXT.

BLACKOUT

3. After 10 counts Rupesh ENT. Sits on the chair.

Slowly put Curtain lights, Front Foot light and Top light on.

4. After opening speech of Witches, Rupesh says “HAVOUR, HUVER, HAIR!” repeatedly, stands
and turns.

IMMEDIATELY BLACKOUT.

5. Rupesh says “LIGHTS PLEASE”.

General light on. Side wings light on. Audience light on.

6. Rupesh prepares to perform - Spit Gag; after he says “FONTANA DE AQUA”.

Switch on the Right and Left Foot lights and (very little) dim the general light.

7. ACT ONE
 Performance CONT. Rupesh says “CHARACTER”. Kalyan ENT.

Rupesh 2’nd time says “CHARACTER”.

Slowly put Curtain lights, Front Foot light and Top light on.

(Very little) dim the general light and Audience light.

8. Rupesh says “AFTER VICTORY I WENT TO MY LAND, SCOTLAND”.

Then Rupesh goes to Guitar Spot.

General and Audience light goes even more dim.

Curtain lights, Front Foot light and Top light stays.

9. Rupesh sings and slowly leaves the circle and comes in front.

Put the General and Audience light on.

10. Rupesh says “ALL HAIL MACBETH, HAIL TO THEE!” and Rupesh takes

a grotesque posture as a Messenger and goes to Messenger Spot.

11. Rupesh becomes Macbeth again and says “I WILL BE THE KING OF SCOTLAND”

Start increasing the General and audience light.

Rupesh says “CHARACTER OFF”.

Red lights off.

12. ACT TWO

Rupesh says “CHARACTER”. Kalyan ENT. Rupesh 2’nd time says “CHARACTER”
 Curtain lights, Front Foot light and Top light on. (Very little) dim the general light.

13. Put the Passage light on...

Rupesh as Macbeth says “IS THIS A DAGGER?”

Dim General light.

Rupesh says “THAT SUMMONS THEE TO HEAVEN OR TO HELL!” Or to...

Rupesh walks to the audience, put the Full General and audience light on.

Character off.... switch off the Curtain light, Front light, Top light.

14. ACT THREE

Rupesh says “CHARACTER”. Kalyan ENT. Rupesh 2’nd time says “CHARACTER”

Curtain lights, Front Foot light and Top light on. (Very little) dim the general light.

Rupesh as Macbeth says “MACBETH TAKES OVER THE THRONE OF SCOTLAND”.

Rupesh sits on chair says “TOMORROW AND TOMORROW”

and Rupesh falls off the chair on “OUT OUT”.

Put on the General light and Audience light.

Character off...... switch off the Curtain light, Front light, Top light.

15. ACT FOUR

Rupesh says “CHARACTER”. Kalyan ENT. Rupesh 2’nd time says
 “CHARACTER”

Curtain lights, Front Foot light and Top light on.

(Very little) dim the general and audience light .

Rupesh as Macbeth says “BANQUO COME HERE....GO THERE!”

Character off...... switch off the Curtain light, Front light, Top light.

Put the General and Audience light.

16. ACT FIVE

Rupesh says “CHARACTER”. Kalyan DOESN’T ENT.

Rupesh 2’nd time says “CHARACTER”

Curtain lights, Front Foot light

and Top light on. (Very little) dim the general light.

Kalyan from the wing says “I HAVE NO WORDS, MY VOICE IS IN

MY SWORD, THOU BLOODIER VILLAIN THAN TERMS GIVE THEE OUT”.

Rupesh EXTS to the wing. Here play around with the lights and

when Rupesh finally shouts from the wing.

BLACKOUT

17. After 5 counts, switch on the General light and Wing lights. When Kalyan

as a Body collapses on floor. Rupesh says “LIGHTS OFF”

 BLACKOUT

18. Rupesh comes on stage, General lights and Audience lights on.
