Foundation 3.

0 SP2 Release Notes


These release notes briefly list changes in the Thermo Foundation™ platform, version 3.0 SP2, fixes to previously
reported issues, and known issues still existing in the Foundation platform.

Minimum These are the minimum hardware and software configurations required for Foundation operation.
Requirements System Requirements
Hardware • 2.4 GHz processor with 4.0 GB RAM
• Dual core processor
• Video card and monitor capable of 1680×1050 resolution
• 500 GB hard drive
• CD/R-ROM drive (or DVD)
Software • Microsoft™ Windows™ 7 SP1 (32-bit or 64-bit) operating system
• Microsoft Office 2010
• Adobe™ Acrobat™ or Reader™ 10.1
• Adobe Flash™ Player 11

Important Installation
Information • The Foundation 3.0 SP2 software automatically detects if a prior version of Foundation is installed. It uninstalls
the earlier version prior to installing the service pack.
• Prior to installing this service pack, uninstall the Xcalibur™ 3.0 data system software, install Foundation 3.0 SP2,
and then reinstall Xcalibur.

Resolved Table 1 lists defects that were resolved between Foundation 3.0 and Foundation 3.0 SP2. The table excludes Help
Issues issues and any cosmetic fixes. In some cases the abstract has been amended or extended from the original to better
describe the reported issue. Both an engineering fix and follow-up testing (verified by our product evaluation
department) have resolved each of these issues.

with Foundation 3.0 if they contained large numbers of compounds.
Foundation 3.0 SP2 can read these files.
DE22463 Reading QED data Fixed a problem with raw data files with extremely large instrument
methods that resulted in “No Instrument Method Present” error
messages with Foundation 3.0.
DE22472 Reading large files Fixed a problem that prevented reading raw data files with extremely
large numbers of scans.
