The legend of the twins. This story was told in Mexico.

This legend is
about a married couple that had abandoned their town, to go to the city
and find new opportunities for work. They had to little girls, who were
twins, with approximately 6 years old. When the mother went out from
the house to go shopping, she used to take with her the twins and she
cared for them. One day, when they had to go to school, they had to
cross a dangerous avenue, but when they were going to do that, a lady
called her mother, and she told her that her husband had an accident.
She got scared and she neglected the girls, when she turned to see
them, it was too late, she looked horrified that the twins were dead,
they had been run over.
The mother was crying a lot of time and she felt guilty. His husband
cried a lot too, many days they were too sad. But the time past and they
found out that they would have two girls again, and they would be
twins, the mother thought that God had given her another chance.
Some years ago, when the twins were 6 years old and had to go to
school, the mother go out from the house with them, but she cared for
them a lot.
One day, when they needed to cross the same road, the mother was a
little scared and worried, and she told them: “Please, be very careful
when you cross the street, because a car may come and hurt you”.
When they heard that, they turned and answered her mother: “Mother,
we never thought to cross, we had done it one time and we were run
over. We won’t do it again, so you won’t be sad again”
