The Addie Model Overview

 Created in 1975 by the Center for Educational Technology at Florida State University

for the U.S. Army.

 Is a learning development model used for instructional design.

 Often used to design training and learning development programs.

ADDIE MODEL

Analyze: Determine target audience, identify problem, analyze need for training, identify

learning goals and map sources that are required.

Design: learning objectives, map evaluation methods, alignment with stake holders, create

learning intervention, outline, and development of a communication strategy, high level

mapping from learning intervention.

Development: Determine instructional strategies, media and method.

Development and evaluation of assessments and tooling, develop communication strategies,

determine delivery methods, quality evaluation.

Implementation: implement communication plans, implement changes physical

environment, training delivery and participation and execution of formal evaluation,

implement participation in side programs.


Evaluation: Evaluate integral parts of each step, allows for continuous learning, propose

points of improvemnent.
