A TRIBUTE FOR MY BELOVED FATHER PA, JOHN EGBUNU OKAYI

I must preface my tribute with toast to my father and friends. Baba, you’re
here done well! The lord your God will now reward your kindness your
gentleness and your hearty love to all. You lived ahead of your time as you
taught us the virtues of life. We will miss you but your thought will forever
be indelible in our minds and hearts. Your exit on 22 nd day of July, 2023
ended the apprehension, the anxiety and the predicament of the thought of
how to cope with your exit from planet earth. I am indeed grateful to God
for giving you us as a father, a leader, a teacher, a mentor, and indeed a
brother and friend. Your life in all was a lesson. A lesson of how to take up
challenges and consciously turning them into solutions. A lesson of how not
to cheat but preferred to be cheated. A lesson of faithfulness and
thoughtfulness. A lesson of helping those in need gleefully and gracefully.
A lesson of hard work and diligence not leaving any stone unturned. We
your children had thought life was not kind to you while appreciating all
your efforts and services to others old and young but we have care to know
that you were the greater confirming what Jesus said in Mathew 20:26: that
whoever wants to be greatest must be the servant.
You were patient with all and you were for all. You are indeed father for all
your life was that of services to other. Thank God you have made it. You
finished your race gloriously. I am very proud of you. Adieu my beloved
father and friend. I love you. Rest in peace MR. MATTHEW AINOKO
