In the article, “The Animal Model: Biological similarity of human and other animals”
present about the similarities of human organ system to animal organ system.
Understanding why most animals use as a substitute in experiment instead of human
itself when it comes in testing medical ways or medicines.

Between human and animals, we can clearly see a big difference when it comes to
physical appearance, but inside we are almost all the same, in the circulatory system,
respiratory system, nervous system also in reproductive system especially in mammals.
Because of these similarities, researchers and scientist use animals for testing and
experimenting medicines. The most common animal they use is the mouse, mouse
share nearly 99% of human genes. “The Animal Research War”, by Michael Conn and
James Parker (2) explained, if you want to investigate a human disease, you can't do
the preliminary research in humans because of ethical concerns; instead, you must
create a model. Some models are created in vitro, or in glass tubes, but as you learn
more, you'll need to test concepts in vivo, or in actual creatures. Animal models provide
for a better accurate representation of a human response.

The similarities of human and animals not in physical appearance but the organ system
and genes benefit our scientist to develop medicines that cure our illnesses today. The
article “The Animal Model: Biological similarity of human and other animals” clearly
explain to us why we use animals for medical testing.
