4. The two debts represent not the amount of sin but the awareness of guilt.

a. All of us are in debt to God and unable to pay because we are spiritually bankrupt.
b. The woman knew she was guilty of sinning against God, but Simon had no conviction of sin.
c. The woman was guilty of the sin of the flesh, but Simon was guilty of the sin of the Spirit.

5. Because the woman was justified by faith, she had peace with God.
