5.3 Sodium Hydroxide, Solution, Standard (0.10 N)— Pre- NOTE 3—To make the addition of AgNO3 in the above solution,
pare and standardize as directed in Practice E200. dissolve 0.049 g of AgNO3 in water and dilute to 1 L. Add 100 mL of this
solution to Stock Solution No. 3 before diluting to 10.0 L.
5.4 Stock Solution No. 1—Dissolve the indicated amounts of
the following salts in water and dilute to a total volume of 7.0 6. Preparation of Substitute Ocean Water

6.1 To prepare 10.0 L of substitute ocean water, dissolve
CaCl2 (anhydrous) 405.6 g ( = 57.9 g/L) 245.34 g of sodium chloride and 40.94 g of anhydrous sodium
SrCl2·6H2O 14.8 g ( = 2.1 g/L) sulfate in 8 to 9 L of water. Add 200 mL of Stock Solution No.
