    Theme: Quarrels amongst employers and employees

    What we did as a team


    We read the text severally and then distributed roles amongst ourselves .We read the
    scene and then re-read it .We also agreed on who was going to take the roles of each
    characters as per every scene.We practiced the scenes severally until everyone knew
    their roles in the play

    My role:

    My part was to play as Ababio.I am to act as a drunkard person and also to refuse to pay Nuhu
    and Ndururu their money after working hard to cement the grave. I am
    also to act as a local person and to stagger when talking to someone. Furthermore, I should be
    stubborn and to annoy both Ndururu and Nuhu by refusing to pay them their money after
    struggling to cement the grave for hours.

    Scene One:

    Nuhu: Watch your tongue ,Ababio, you have your own agemate to insult

    Ababio:I know I can’t win here but the best is a draw

    Nuhu:Thank you as you can see the job is done ,what is left is our pay.

    Nuhu:Ababio will you give us our pay!


    Ababio:Oh!your pay is no problem .But are you sure everything is perfectly done.

    Well,I trust you know whose grave this is .I trust you…..

    Nuhu: Ababio my men want their pay!!

    Scene 2

    Ababio:Okay but you should remember that this is a pastors grave.

    Nuhu :Now what do you want us to do apart from this

    Ababio:Logical! Logical! A befitting gift from a firstborn son, I want my father's grave to be
    perfectly polished and prove to the doubting Thomases

    Scene 3

    Ndururu-This is getting too far give us our pay!!


    Ababio-Patience brother, patience

    Ndururu(still demanding his pay)-No! Give me my pay, my wife herself won’t believe that I was
    here so just give me my pay and let me go!

    Ababio: You have spoilt her.


    Ndururu: What else do you want me to do! Beat her up whenever she opens her mouth?

    Ndururu: Hey I’m off but remember that I will come for my pay tomorrow come rain come
    sunshine.

    Nuhu:Me too and no more negotiations.
