Charles Spencer Chaplin KBE (16 April 1889 –25 December

1997) He was an actor comic,filmmakerand composer english ,who rose to fame in
the era of film silent. He became a icono worldwide through of his character ’’the
wanderer’’ and is considered one of the figures most important of the industry
cinematographic. His career spanned more than 75 years, since his childhood in
the era victoriana,until a year before his death in 1977, and both adulation and
controversy.

the childhood of Charles Chaplin was marked by poverty and difficulties. His father
was absent and his mother struggled financially. He started acting at a young age,
touring halls music and later working as a stage actor and comedian

At age 19, he was signed to the company, Fred Karno , which took him to the United
States . He was scouted for the industry film and began appearing in 1914 for
Keystone Studios.

He was a perfectionist. his films are characterized by slapstick combined with

pathos.
Chaplin died on december 25,1997 at his residence Manoir de Ban, en Consier-sur-
Vevey,switzerland.

He was 88 years old and died in is slepp at 4 in the morning,he was buried in the
cementery of de canton of vaud.
