All cables shall comply with the appropriate requirements given in Part 1 of this HD and the individual types of cable shall each comply with the particular requirements of this part. The wires ‘may be plain or tinned. 632 Separator ‘A soparator of suitable material may be applied around each conductor. 19+ HD 22.4 $4:2004 6.3.3 Insulation The insulation shal be rubber compound of Type El 4 applied around each conductor by extrusion ‘The insulation thickness shall comply wih the specified value given in Part 4, Table 9 cokimn 2. 63.4 Coreidentification Core identification shall be either by () Marking by inscription, or (i) Colour coding (pllet and marker system), except that where a protective earth conductor is included in the cable it shall always be a green- ‘and-yellow core placed in the outer layer. 6.3.4.1 Marking by inscription With the exception of any green-and-yellow earth core, which if included shall be placed in the outer layer, all cores in the cable shall be marked by inscription according to EN 60334. The base colour shall be black and the inscription colour shall be white or yellow. 6.3.42 Colour coding (pilot and marker system) In each layer, two adjacent cores shall be distinctively coloured, with all other cores of the same colour as ‘each other. For cables including a protective earth conductor one core coloured green-and-yellow shall replace one of the two distinctively coloured cores in the outer layer only. 63.5 Assembly of cores and filler, if any ‘The cores shall be twisted together. A centre core is not permitted. A protective conductor, if any, shall be applied in the outer layer. A centre filler may be used, and is however compulsory for cables having 6, 18, and 36 cores, and also for 7 and 19 cores when these non-preferred sizes are used. ‘The centre filler shall consist of a suitable material. A tape of suitable material may be applied around the core assembly before application of the sheath. 6.3.6 Sheath Tho core assembly shall be covered with a sheath. The sheath shall be applied either in a single layer, rubber compound EM 2, or in two layers, with the inner layer made of one of the rubber compounds EM 2 or EM 3 and the outer layer of rubber compound EM 2. The application of a tape between the two layers is optional ‘The thickness of sheath shall comply with the specified value given in Part 4, Table 9, columns 3, 4 and 5 ‘The sheath in a single layer or the inner layer of the sheath in two layers shal fil he spaces between the cores. Where a tape of suitable material is applied around the core assembly (6.3.5) this requirement shall not apply. The sheath shall be capable of being removed without damage to the cores. Fornon-electical tests on sheaths in two layers see Part 1, Subclause 5.5.2.2 6.3.7 Overall diameter The mean overall ameter shall be within the limits given in Part 4, Table 9, columns 6 and 7. 638 Outermarking ‘The cable shall have the marking HO7RN-F printed or embossed on, oF indented into, the outer surface of the polychloroprene sheath. The marking, which shall meet the requirements of 3.2 and 3.3 of Part 1. shall be legible.
