INTERVIEW REPORT

INTERVIEW OF THE EXPERT :

Miss Jayashree
On the 4th of January, we conducted an interview on the principal of our school,
Miss Jayashree Bhake. She has been a principal at multiple schools. She has
almost 3 decades of experience in the education sector as a principal.
On interviewing her, when the topic gender bias comes around the school
environment then they have different stakeholders in the school so the students,
the staff members or the parents come to meet them. Other than this they have a
policy call POSH (prevention of sexual harassment) in place. The school talks
about gender equality for both, the students and faculty staff. The school ensures
that the children do not feel that they are being taught or talking to as a girl or a
boy but as student, this shows the professionalism prevalent where a person is
not classified according to their gender but according to their capability. This
allows everyone to feel equal and not mistreated.

INTERVIEW OF THE VICTIM :

Mr. Kunal
Mr. Kunal has worked a year at WWE ( NGO) as a tutor to all economically
weaker students and has an experience of almost a decade in the teaching sector.
The teachers and the staff make sure that the students don’t face problems
regarding gender equality and unequal treatment. The term gender bias is against
the school policy. According to the victim it’s about the students nature of how
open they can be to the teachers but some students are hesitant to open up
when it comes to talking about this topic. This is where teachers like him come in,
he has almost a decade of experience and is also in his late 20s, this allows him to
connect with students better and students feel much more open with him.The
teachers of the school create a safe environment so that the students feel
comfortable to speak about topics like this. If the student faces and problems of
gender bias, they can speak to a teacher or any higher authority who will try their
best to help them out of the matter. Our school also has a dedicated PLC team
who are a group of child psychologists who work for the betterment of the
students’ mental health.

These interviews show us the point of view of an institution and how they try to
curb this social bane as well as what teachers do to help students to talk about
these problems. These are eye openers for us to how the world actually treats
men and women in society, as 2 disctinct groups. Both genders may have their
differences but at the end both are human, and all humans must be treated with
the equal respect
