We are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Senior Procurement Officer with proven track
record of growing company /brands through the execution and management of Procurement portfolio to
maintain a competitive niche in the Market.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB


This role will provide high quality procurement guidance, advice and support to internal stakeholders to
implement the Procurement Strategy and enable the organization to deliver its goals. It will also provide
end to end procurement support on a range of complex procurement activities, playing a key role in the
development and delivery of procurement sourcing strategies within the designated categories of
expenditure.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Devise and use fruitful sourcing strategies
2. Participate in Evaluation of Bids for High Value and Specialized Procurements and Disposals
3. Initiate business and organization partnerships, liaise with the Suppliers/Providers and Other
Stakeholders to ensure Timely Delivery of Goods and Services.
4. Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
5. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
6. Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the
company
7. Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
8. Put together new contracts and service delivery agreements. include strategizing to find quality
and cost-effective purchases
9. Solicit and consolidate user Departmental procurement plans, manage utilization and
maintenance of organisational procurement records by developing effective analytical tools to
track spend and supplier performance, supporting effective commercial insight by identifying
risk and areas for improvement.
10. Plan and budget for the procurement unit, submit procurement plans for approval to relevant
internal stakeholders
11. Maintain a reliable Procurement Management Information system- In-put procurement
transactions on the system for further processing
12. Coordinate the evaluation team to ensure the evaluation report and minutes are prepared in
accordance with the law and standard formats
13. Preparing and submitting of weekly / Monthly Reports on Procurement & Disposal

Preferred Education & Experience


❖ Applicants should be Ugandans aged 30 years and below
❖ Honours Bachelor's degree in Procurement (or purchasing) and Supply Chain Management or its
equivalent OR Full related Professional qualification in Procurement from a recognized
University/Institution.
❖ Must also be a member the Chartered Institutes of Procurement and Supply (CIPS)
❖ 5years of working experience as a Procurement Officer in the FMCG sector or a reputable
organization
❖ ·ERP Knowledge (SAP, SAGE, Microsoft Dynamics) is preferred
❖ Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in reading the market
Talent in negotiations and networking Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
❖ Experience in collecting and analyzing data, Strong leadership capability’s skills and ability to work
in a team
Behavior Competences/Technical Skills/Expertise

❖ Procurement legal framework/ Tender procedures/ Purchasing/Procurement regulations/Asset


Management
❖ Skills required - Must have Presentation/Negotiation/Project Management/ Research/Digital
