that significantly reduces installation time and valuable mounting space. The panel implements
several safety features that offers protection to the operator, patient, and imaging equipment. The
UL/cUL design covers North America, National Electrical Code, and Canadian Electrical code.
Bevco Engineering main disconnect panels are manufactured with proven components and each
panel is individually tested prior to shipment. The true Automatic Restart feature reduces the
operational downtime following power loss/facility power testing and does not require facility or
electrical personnel intervention. Also included in this design are UPS EPO connections, remote
and local Emergency Power Off buttons, UL, cUL, OSHPD, RoHS labeled, and the panel can be
surfaced or semi-flush mounted.

DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION
This Bevco Engineering Main Disconnect Panel serves as the main power between the
facility power source and the imaging system. The MDP saves time, installation labor, and
valuable mounting space by consolidating the main circuit breaker, control circuit, and indicator
lights into a compact factory manufactured and tested panel. The load side of the main circuit
breaker (CB1), the contactor (C) feeding the CT PDU, and the control circuit (PS), will be de-
energized when any of the following occurs: the panels main circuit breaker is de-energized, the
operator handle is switched to the off position, an EPO is pressed, or the panels ON/OFF selector
switch (SS1) is set to the off position. Power will be restored automatically once the main circuit
breaker is re-energized, provided the main circuit breaker operator handle and all EPOs are set
to the normal operating position, as well as the panels system ON/OFF switch is set to the ON
position. If an Emergency Power Off button has been pressed at any time it must be reset by
rotating the dial clockwise. Once the EPO is reset the contacts will open and automatically re-
energizing the control circuit restoring power to the imaging equipment. The control circuit is
factory configured to automatically re-energize the imaging equipment upon restoration of
facility power following outages created by planned testing, surges, storms, and other similar
interruptions without the need for facility or electrical staff intervention. The output power of
the main disconnect panel is enabled through a low voltage 24VDC control circuit wired in
series. The control circuit consists of normally closed contacts and are located on the panel
covers ON/OFF selector switch, EPO, and the remote EPO pushbutton(s). The panel is equipped
with one EPO built into the enclosure door and 2 optional remote EPOs are provided with each
panel. The UIHCT225-WNNN provides the means to lock-out/tag-out the power circuit per
OSHA standards and safeguards the technician in the event service is required for the imaging
equipment. In-Use room warning light connections for 24VDC and 120VAC are included in the
design. 24VDC applications are powered from within the panel while 120VAC requires external
power to be supplied.

WARNING: If building power is removed from the panel while the system is in normal operation, the CT Main
Disconnect Panel will automatically re-energize when building power is restored

SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE

• Troubleshooting and servicing should be performed by a qualified electrician
• Always wear proper personal arc flash protection and observe the lock out/tag out
requirements of your employer and the facility you are working at
• De-energize and lockout the main disconnect before servicing this panel
• A Structural engineer shall define the proper fixing and anchoring hardware for the
installation to the wall of the MDP. Type and model of anchoring and the necessary
tightening torque shall be recorded in a document left in the MDP log book. A paint or lack
mark shall be applied on screw head, to facilitate further visual inspection.
• Prior to service or testing ensure that the Main Circuit Breaker (CB1) settings are properly set
according to the Instantaneous Trip Setting called out on the schematic. These settings come
factory set and are tested prior to shipping.
• Prior to service or testing ensure that no one is working on or near the equipment this panel
energizes

WARNING
• Always wear proper personal arc flash
protection and observe the lock out and
tag out requirements of your employer
and the facility you are working at
• Verify all factory and field electrical
connections are properly tightened
• Verify all voltages are as stated on the panel drawing
• If building power is removed from the panel while the system is in normal operation, the
CT Main Disconnect Panel will automatically re-energize when building power is restored

INSTALLATION
Guidelines
• Installation and servicing must only be performed by persons qualified and familiar with 480V power
distribution systems and must observe proper safety and arc flash requirements
• The enclosure must be mounted at a height that does not allow the top of the main circuit breaker
handle to exceed 6 feet, 7 inches when in the ON position. (Per National Electric Code (NEC # 404.8)
• Incoming power is connected to the main circuit breaker located at the upper right of the Main
Disconnect Panel. Refer to the schematic drawing for the incoming conductor size range and
tightening torques
• There are no conduit knockouts provided in the panel. The installer must punch the conduit holes in
the enclosure walls in the desired locations. The conduits may enter on the top of the enclosure.
• When drilling or punching the conduit entry holes, protect the internal components from falling
metal chips and remove all debris following installation
• All conductors must be sized per the wiring shown on the electrical schematic located inside of the
enclosure
• Please verify that all electrical connection are torqued correctly and that they have not loosened
during shipping.
Procedures
1. Connect the incoming power to the Line side of the main circuit breaker (CB1), conductor range #8 -
#1AWG
2. Connect the CT PDU to the load side of the contactor (C), conductor range #6AWG - 250MCM
3. Room Warning Light Connections as follows:
• 24VDC, internal power is supplied at TB1-5 and TB1-2
• 120VAC, requires an external power source to be terminated at TB1-17 and TB1-20 and Room
Warning Light terminations to be landed on TB1-19 and TB1-20, Conductor range #22 - #8AWG
4. Remote Emergency Power Off conductor range and connections are as follows:
• If only one EPO is installed ONLY the violet bypass jumper wire with yellow tag should be
removed from the TB1-7 and TB1-8 terminals and replaced with the normally closed EPO
pushbutton provided. Conductor range, #22 - #8AWG.
• If a second Remote EPO is installed the violet bypass jumper wire with yellow tag should be
removed from the TB1-8 and TB1-9 terminals and replaced with the second EPO provided.
Conductor range, #22 - #8AWG.
• The optional UPS EPO terminals are located at TB1-15 and TB1-16. Conductor range, #22 -
#8AWG.

REMOTE EPO
EPO-NCNC-F: This part number comes with two normally closed contact blocks attached
to the back of the emergency off push button. Two are included with each System Main
Disconnect Panel (NOTE: This emergency off push button must be mounted in an extra deep
switch box with mud ring. The contact block on the back of the EPO extends 1.38” into the
switch box and terminates from the side.)
