複數名詞 (Plural Nouns)

複數名詞是指多於一個的人、地、物或概念的名詞。

複數名詞

無特殊情形：加 s
 ocean ➝ oceans 海洋
 girl ➝ girls 女孩
 book ➝ books 書
 table ➝ tables 桌子
字尾是 s/x/z/sh/ch：加 es
 class ➝ classes 課程
 buzz ➝ buzzes 嗡嗡聲
 box ➝ boxes 箱子
 dish ➝ dishes 盤子
 church ➝ churches 教堂
字尾是 f/fe：去 f/fe 加 ves
 leaf ➝ leaves 葉子

 thief ➝ thieves 小偷

 knife ➝ knives 刀子
 wife ➝ wives 老婆
字尾是「子音加 y」：去 y 加 ies
 city ➝ cities 城市
  country ➝ countries 國家
 berry ➝ berries 莓果
 butterfly ➝ butterflies 蝴蝶
＊注意＊
如果字尾是「母音加 y」，複數形則不用去 y，直接加 s 就可以囉！

字尾是 o ：加 s 或 es
英文的母音是 a e i o u，其餘為子音
母音加 o：加 s
 zoo ➝ zoos 動物園

子音加 o：加 es
 hero ➝ heroes 英雄
 tomato ➝ tomatoes 番茄
 potato ➝ potatoes 馬鈴薯

 volcano ➝ volcanos/volcanoes 火山
 tornado ➝ tornados/tornadoes 龍捲風
＊注意＊
o 結尾名詞的複數形式較為複雜，也有許多例外，不一定要死背所有規則，可以看到
單字時一個一個一個慢慢記起來呦！常見的例外如：
 photo ➝ photos 照片
由於 photo 是 photograph 的縮寫，所以加上 s 就可以囉！
 piano ➝ pianos 鋼琴
 cello ➝ cellos 大提琴
樂器的複數形一律都加 s 即可。
