Innovation: Color Management
The VENTANA DP 200 slide scanner integrates color profiling to:
- maintain color fidelity across scanners and monitors
- ensure that every image generated has a color managed profile to closely
match the colors viewed through a standard microscope

Innovation: Color Management
• Human vision sensitivity is different from silicon sensitivity:
– Two objects illuminated by the same source have different colors when viewed
by the human brain and a CMOS sensor
– DP 200 Color Management tries to replicate human color sensitivity taking both
the scanner and the display device spectral properties into account
– Implemented Color Management framework follows the International Color
Consortium (ICC) recommendation (version 4)

The Control Unit and monitor must be configured to handle color profiles, Roche
recommends:
- DP 200 System: use the “Standard” setting for monitor and sRGB profile for
Windows Display Settings

- Client System: use the AdobeRGB profile or a sRGB profile setting for monitor.
For Control Unit, AdobeRGB profile or a sRGB profile. The monitor and control
unit settings must match.

- On Virtuoso, do not tweak/adjust the Image Viewing settings,

The ‘Image adjustments’ must be on ‘None’

The DP 200 Slide Images has a Color Management component, they are compatible
ONLY with:
- iViewer 3.2
- Virtuoso 5.6.2 - IMS 5.8 which supports the Color Management
- uPath 1.1 - IMS 6.1

Virtuoso 5.6.2/ uPath 1.1 supports:

- DP 200, iScan Coreo, iScan HT images: .bif, .tiff, .jpeg
- .scn (Leica format)
- .ndpi (Hamamatsu)
- .svs (Aperio)

Virtuoso 5.6.2 does NOT support DICOM format (both displaying or converting).

IMS: differences between DP 200 and other scanners
iScan HT and iScan Coreo DP 200
