Application This procedure shall be applied to the trial operation for the electrochlorination package to be used in the Chilean LNG Project. For normal operation after the trial operation, refer to the technical operation & maintenance manual (DWGNo.UEC-MGB90680100033) because this procedure shows only for trial operation, 2. Outline Following tests and operation shall be executed as the trial operation. (1) Check and Confirmation after installation (2) Flow balance test (3) Check of individual equipment (4) Dynamic function test (5) Synthetic trial operation (6) Performance test (chlorine production) 3. Check and confirmation after installation Following items shall be confirmed to be completed satisfactorily before start of trial operation. (1) All the equipment shall be checked to be installed correctly according to the erection and installation procedure (DWGNo.UEC-MGB90680100048). (2) All the pipelines shall be checked to be constructed correctly according to the erection and installation procedure (DWGNo.UEC-MGB90680100048). Hydrostatic test for all the pipelines shall be carried out with specified test pressure. (3) All the local instruments shall be checked to be installed correctly according to the erection and installation procedure (DWGNo.UEC-MGB90680100048), and they shall be set at specified set points according to the set point list (DWG.No.UEC-MGB90680 100006). (4) All the wiring for electrical equipment and instruments shall be checked to be constructed correctly as per the related drawings and lists. (5). Busbars and busducts for DC power supply shall be checked to be installed correctly according to. ~—the_-—erection —and_—installation —_—procedure (DWGNo.UEC-MGB90680100048), and tightening torque for connecting bolts and nuts shall be checked again before loading. (6) All the mechanical and electrical equipment shall be checked that any parts are not, damaged or broken, and any bolts / nuts are not loosening or missing. (7) The pumps shall be checked that they are correctly lubricated as per the lub oil and operating fluids schedule (DWG.No.UEC-MGB90680100038). (8) Motor proper test shall be completed before loading. Record sheet is attached for reference (Fig.1). (9) Insulation resistance inspection ‘Transformer / Rectifier The insulation resistance of Transformer / Rectifier shall be measured with a megger-tester (SO0V), and measured value shall be confirmed that it is more than the specified value and it shall be recorded on the check sheet (Fig.2) attached for reference. This inspection shall be carried out carefully as per the following procedure because the rectifier contains delicate parts such as print circuit boards which cannot withstand for the high voltage. - Procedure — Firstly make short — circuit condition on each phases (anode — cathode — gate) of every thyristor stack with the bare copper wires. Measuring point Aczeptance er a. Between primary winding and ‘more than 3 mega-ohm or other secondary winding stand b. Between primary winding and ‘more than 3 mega-ohm ground (earth) c. Between secondary winding and more than 3 mega-olun ground If inside of the electrolytic cell has a wet condition due to the hydraulic test or water flushing, the insulation resistance cannot be measured because there is a possibility to make short circuit condition with the moisture through the electrolytic cell, piping and other equipment. Therefore, the busbars between electrolytic cell and rectifier must be taken out at least one link before measurement of item c. ‘AUTION Before energizing of transformer / rectifier, confirm that control / auxiliary breaker is off position. (10) Check of rotating equipment ‘The pumps, fans shall be checked individually before the test run in the following order. a. Hand turning check The pumps and fans shall be confirmed individually that they are smoothly rotated without any mechanical abnormal condition by hand turning. Check of rotating direction Rotating direction of the pumps and fans shall be confirmed to be correct by operating motors for a few seconds. Flow balance test ‘The purpose of this test are to check if the flow balance can be maintained without any abnormal condition and trouble, and to flush the piping and equipment with seawater. (1)_ No load operation of pump (Shut off operation) 2) The continuous dosing pump, shock dosing pump and acid cleaning pump shall be operated with seawater at shut off condition for 1 minute to check if the excessive vibration and abnormal noise are not made during the operation. ‘Synthetic flow balance a. The breaker of rectifier is turned to OFF position. (Because transformer / rectifier is not operated.) Al the equipment except electrolytic cell (transformer / rectifier) shall be operated for checking the synthetic flow balance. b. Whole electrochlorination package except transformer / rectifier shall be started in accordance with the section 7.2 in the technical operation & maintenance manual (DWGNo.UEC-MGB90680100033). ¢. Confirm that the continuous dosing pump and shock dosing pump are operated without any abnormal condition and trouble. 4. Confirm that the seawater is fed constantly into the hypochlorite storage tank. e. Confirm that water level in the hypochlorite storage tank is kept at constant in the continuous dosing mode. (LIC=500mm) f. Confirm that water level in the hypochlorite storage tank is controlled (increase and. decrease) stably in shock dosing mode. g. Confirm that the dilution fan is operated without any abnormal condition. h. Confirm that the shock dosing flows for individual points are maintained without any problem, Flow balance check During above operation, the operation rate such as flow rate, pressure, etc. shall be ‘measured and recorded in the record sheet attached for reference (Fig.3). @) @ () During flow balance check Confirm that any other problem is not observed in the electrochlorination package. Kk, Measurement of operation data During the flow balance check, the measurements described in section shall be executed as test of the individual equipment. Duration of flow balance check ‘The operation shall be continued at least for 2 hours or until the bearing temperature reaches saturated level. ‘The shock dosing control shall be checked for minimum 8 hours to confirm one cycle of the duration and interval of shock dosing. Stop of synthetic flow balance check It shall be completed after confirming no operational problem. Acid cleaning line check After completing synthetic flow balance check, the acid cleaning line shall be checked according to the following procedure. a. Make line-up for acid cleaning by operating manual valves (refer to Fig.4). b. Fill the acid cleaning tank with seawater or potable water. ©. Start the acid cleaning pump d. Adjust the discharge pressure at 1.5BARG by operating pump discharge valve. ©. Confirm that the acid cleaning pump is operated withcut any abnormal condition and trouble, f. During above operation, the measurement described in section 5 shall be executed as test of the individual equipment.
