Statement of Alina Adriana Telea

Since I remember from my childhood,

I was scare of the Police brutality.
1). The most recently incident,
On the morning of 14, FEBRUARY 2023, a police intervention against Romani people
took place in my town of SIMLEU SILVANIEI.
All police commando unit of the Romanian Interior Ministry, broke into Romani,
dwellings in SIMLEU SILVANIEI, as well as other sites throughout SALAJ.
3 Police officers brutally beat me in my home in front of my mother, while
shouting racist insults and threats.
I was beaten by the officers ended up in the hospital with serious head injuries.
2). Another incident on the 23, of March 2023, It was 7:20 AM.
I was sleeping and suddenly people started to shout that the police were there.
They invaded our home, grabbed me and ordered me to lie or kneel on the ground.
I told them I couldn't kneel because one of my legs is injured.
They started shouting at me: 'We'll cut off your other one!'
Then they beat me in the back and on the head."
3). In 15 May 2023, 2 drunk Police officers, they start shouting "You Gypsy, dirt
bag",
I WAS BARREL-ROLLED AROUND and continuing to try to escape from the 2 drunk
police men.
On of them, at one point he had me on my back with his fingers around my neck,
and held me down real close and was strangling me, and sort of let me know
that ‘he has control and said to me;
"if you don't stop screaming and yelling,
I'll kill you,"
Because of my struggle, it just angered him and enraged him - he beat me even
more severely, and they continue the rape.
After the attack, they left me on the ground, with many injuries all over my
body, head, face and back, bloodied and naked from waist down.

The Gypsies in Romania are facing dire poverty and discrimination,

and are systematically sidelined, suffering that parallels the trials
of Jews in Europe.

For all of this reasons, I borrowed money and risking my freedom and life, I
would rather die in USA, then go back
to Romania!
All I want, is to have a dissent life in a Democratic Country, and, to be
integrated in American Society.
I am very grateful, to be in this country, where I feel safe now, and appreciated
all the help that I receive from people of this country.
