The Quality Assurance office was able to spearhead the company’s successful renewal of IOSA

(IATA Operational Safety Audit) and IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO)
Certification in the year 2023. This guarantees us 2 years organizational certification and station
accreditation. It was double celebration for the company as it was, notably, the 1 st African carrier
to be audited under the new risk based IOSA(RBI) methodology, which aims to enhance the
safety and quality of airline operations.
This achievement demonstrates our safety and reliability as an Airline & Ground Services
Provider. It also verifies that we are compliant with global operating safety standards. Well done
to all the teams that put in the time and hard work to deliver a successful IOSA& ISAGO re-
certification. The onus is now on us all to ensure we maintain safety standards throughout the
certification period.
The AOC renewal application for the year 2024 came out positive as well and the KQ AOC and
Ops Specs were renewed successfully and on time.
The QA office, also, successfully launched its Associate Auditors program in 2023. Auditors are
persons nominated by the Quality Manager, who have the experience responsibility and authority
to perform audits and inspections as part of KQ quality assurance program. This pool of auditors
will ensure the quality assurance office has adequate manpower resources to accomplish audit
activities.
The office was able to conduct 101 audits in the year 2023 across the network covering Kenya
Airways internal operations, service providers and RFP prequalification audits. In addition, the
office helped to coordinate external audits by CAAs like Ghana CAA, China CAA and statutory
workplace audits mandated by Kenyan regulatory bodies e.g DOSH, NEMA, EPRA, KNRA etc
