Turns

At Entry Level 3 you will need to describe the


amount of movement using the terms whole
turn, quarter turn, half turn, three-quarter
turn and full turn.

A whole turn is turning one whole circle. A


quarter turn is turning a quarter of a circle.

A half turn is turning half of a circle and a


three-quarter turn is turning three-quarters
of a circle.

The umbrella below shows these turns in a


clockwise direction.

In maths we say that a quarter turn is 90°.
