Question: What is 30°C in Kelvin?

Solution:

The temperature conversion formula from Celsius to Kelvin is, K = C + 273.15

K = 30 + 273.15 K = 303.15

Question 2: Convert 50°C to °F.

Solution:
Celsius to Fahrenheit conversion formula is given by:
°F = °C(9⁄5) + 32
= 50 (9/5) + 32
= 90 + 32

= 122
Therefore, 50°C = 122°F

Question 3: Convert 113°F to Kelvin.

Solution:
Fahrenheit to Kelvin conversion formula is given by:
K = (F − 32) × 5⁄9 + 273.15
= (113 – 32) × (5/9) + 273.15
= 81 × (5/9) + 273.15
= 45 + 273.15
= 318.15
Therefore, 113°F = 318.15 K

Question 4: Convert 225 K to Celsius.

Solution:
Kelvin to Celsius conversion formula is given by:
C = K – 273.15
= 225 – 273.15
= -48.15
Therefore, 225 K = -48.15°C

 Example 1: We know that one degree Celsius is equal to 273.15 Kelvin. Calculate 30°C in Kelvin.

Solution:
To find: Convert 30°C in Kelvin.

Given,

One-degree Celsius is equal to 273.15 Kelvin.

Using temperature conversion formulas,

Kelvin (K) = Celsius(C) + 273.15

Putting the value:

K = 30 + 273.15 K = 303.15 K

= 303.15 K

Answer: 30°C in Kelvin is 303.15 K

 Example 2: The body temperature is generally 98.6ºF. Find the body temperature in Celsius
using temperature conversion formulas.

Solution:

To find: The body temperature in Celsius.

Given,

The body temperature on the Celcius scale is 98.6ºF.

The formula to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius is,

C = (F − 32) × 5/9

On putting the value, we get

C = (98.6 − 32) × 5/9

= 37°C

Answer: The body temperature in Celsius is 37°C.

 Example 3: Convert 220 K to Celsius as well as Fahrenheit.

Solution:

We apply temperature conversion formulas.

Using Kelvin to Celsius conversion formula

C = K – 273.15
= 220 – 273.15
= -53.15°C

Using Kelvin to Fahrenheit conversion formula

F = (K – 273.15) × 9/5 + 32
= (220 – 273.15) × 9/5 + 32
= -53.15 × 9/5 + 32 = -95.67 + 32 = -63.67°F

Answer: 220K in Celsius is -53.15°C and Fahrenheit is -63.67°F.
