DEMOCRACY

The charter upholds the requirement for democracy in the governance process in particular with regard
to free and fair election. The charter expresses the commitment of members states to the development
of free and democratic societies and the promotion of peace prosperity to improve the lives of all
people of the commonwealth,the charter serves as guiding framework for member countries to
promote democracy,human rights, equality, sustainable development and peace.
