an overview of the amount of research conducted by MEED
Projects researchers in the month of March 2023.

The projects were updated through primary, secondary and

field research processes across Chemical, Construction,
Gas, Industrial, Oil, Power, Transport & Water sectors in
the GCC, MENA, Levant, Africa and Sub-Saharan African

In the GCC region, Saudi Arabia & the UAE remain the busiest markets accounting for 1,686 project updates worth around $1.1 trillion.

Egypt leads the MENA region in construction activities clocking 309 project updates that are valued at around $148 bn.

In the African continent, Kenya recorded 90 project updates valued roughly at around $53 bn.

A total of 338 projects valued at around $115 bn were created during the month of March 2023

Saudi Arabia leads region in terms of new project creations where 109 new projects valued at around $33.1 bn were created.

In the MENA region, Egypt accounted for 24 new projects worth around $8.8 bn.

In the African continent, South Africa recorded 6 new project creations valued roughly at around $633m.

1 SATORP - Amiral Complex

Saudi Aramco and Total (SATORP) are planning to develop a chemical plant named as Amiral complex in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The project includes the
construction of Ethylene plant (1.65 MTPA), Propylene plant (50,000 TPA), Acrylonitrile plant with the capacity of 425,000tpa, Linear Alpha Olefin (LAO) plant
with the capacity of 400,000tpa, Poly Alpha Olefin (PAO) plant, Logistic Area, Utility Flare and Interconnection, Tank Farm etc.

2 Adnoc - Mirfa Seawater Treatment Plant

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) is planning to develop Mirfa planned seawater treatment under Project Wave in Abu Dhabi, the UAE. The project
involves the construction of a seawater treatment plant, Development of a nanofiltration plant with a capacity of 115 million imperial gallons a day,

Construction of a pumping station, Laying of 75-kilometre (km) water transmission pipeline to the Bab and Bu Hasa oilfields etc.

3 Marjan/RAK Hospitality/Wynn Resorts - Al-Marjan Multipurpose Integrated Resort

A joint venture of Marjan, RAK Hospitality, and Wynn Resorts is undertaking the construction of a multipurpose integrated resort with a built-up area of
250,000m2 in Al Marjan Island, Ras Al Khaimah, the UAE. The project will be UAE's first casino resort in Ras Al Khaimah and It is set to further catalyze Ras
Al Khaimah's booming tourism market with its wide array of entertainment choices, gaming areas, and other amenities.

4 Ministry of Interior - Internal Security Forces: CPC 08

Qatar Ministry of Interior, on behalf of the Internal Security Force (ISF) is constructing a new Internal Security Force camp at Al Duhail on the outskirts of
Doha, Qatar. The project involves the construction of more than 330 individual building units made up of several different types of purpose-built facilities
with infrastructure works on a development area of four million square meters. The project is planned to be developed in a time span of five years. The
project is also called Al Duhail Camp.

5 Umm Al Qura - Masar: Package B: Hilton Garden Inn

Umm Al Qura for Development & Construction Company(Umm Al Qura) is planning to construct 3 towers of three-star Hilton Hotel tower on plot number
3SS-01 & 3SS-14 in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The project was known as King Abdulaziz Road Project (KAAR). The project includes the construction of 1400
rooms hotel, business center, landscaping works, parking facilities, swimming pools, fitness centers, and associated facilities. 6

1 Sonelgaz - 22GW Renewable Energy Program: CSP: Phase 2 (2000MW)

Societe Algerienne de Production de l’Electricite (SPE) is planning to develop 2000 MW photovoltaic solar power plants as a part of the Renewable Energy
Program in Algeria. The current profile includes the Phase II of the Renewable Energy Program. Tender number: 01/CEEG/2023

2 Saudi Aramco - Riyas NGL Fractionation Plant- Processing Plant

Saudi Aramco is planning to undertake the construction of a Riyas Natural Gas Liquids facility as a part of the Commercialization of Unconventional
Resources Jafurah Gas Plant in Saudi Arabia. The project includes the construction of gas separation trains, booster compressors units, acid gas removal

units (AGRU), gas dehydration unit, natural gas liquids (NGL) units, construction of associated facilities.

3 Ministry of Oil - Al Qayyarah Oil Refinery

Iraq Ministry of Oil (MoO) is undertaking the construction of an oil refinery with the production capacity of 70,000 b/pd in Al Qayyarah , Iraq. The project
includes the construction of storage tanks, sulphur recovery unit(SRU), sulphur degassing and forming, installation of incinerator, installation of tail gas
treatment system etc.

4 Ministry of Oil - Maysan Investment Refinery Project

Ministry of Oil is undertaking the construction of an oil refinery with the production capacity of 150000 b/pd in Maysan Governorate, Iraq. The project
includes the construction of storage tanks, sulphur recovery unit(SRU), sulphur degassing and forming, installation of incinerator, installation of tail gas
treatment system etc.

5 SWCC - Yanbu SWRO Phase 2

Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) is planning to undertake the construction of the Yanbu seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant phase 2
in Saudi Arabia. The project is in line with improving the environmental impact of the desalination water unit of Yanbu phase 2. The plant will be located in
the area beside the existing Yanbu Desalination Plant and Power Plants. The Project will be developed on a greenfield site with around 21 hectares of size

plus. The plant limits on the south side of the SWCC Yanbu complex.

1 HCWW - Sewage Networks And Pump Stations For S.04 Villages

Egyptian Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCWW) is planning to implement the construction of sewage networks and pump station for S.04
Villages in Sanhour Al Bahariyya, Fayoum, Egypt. The project is coming up in two Lots. The first lot covers three villages Sinnuris District, namely Walidah
Village, Iz. Alsayyid Ruhayl and Al Tamawi Village and second lot cover 4 villages in Sinnuris District, namely Abd Allah Eleiwa Village, Mohammed Youssef
village, Monshaat El-Sadat Village, and Iz. Abd El-Aleem Ibrahim Village.

2 Marafeq - North District Cooling Plant

Marafeq Qatar (Marafeq) is planning to undertake the construction of a North district cooling plant in Qatar. The project has a total capacity of 84000TR of

which 72000TR will be included in the current scope and 12000TR for the future.

3 AEC - Oran Seawater Desalination Plant: Main Package

Algerian Energy Company (AEC) belonging to the Sonatrach group is planning to undertake the construction of a offshore seawater desalination plant at
cap blanc, Oran, Algeria.The aim of the plant is to guarantee water production and ensure its autonomy tanks to water from dams.

4 NWC - Water Line From Briman Reservoirs To shamal Reservoir

National Water Company is planning to undertake the construction of water transmission lines From Briman Reservoirs To shamal Reservoirs in Jeddah,
Saudi Arabia. The project includes the construction of a pumping station with a capacity of 440,000 m3/day, installation of transmission pipelines,
installation of steel pipes water line of 1800 mm and a length of about 18 km, construction of associated facilities.

5 NWCPC - Ndarugu 2 Dam

National Water Conservation and Pipeline Corporation (NWCPC) is planning to undertake the construction of the Ndarugu 2 Dam in Gatundu North, Kiambu
County, Kenya. The Ndarugu 2 Dam will be built in Kanjuku, Mwimuto, Watathi, Gathaiti and Gatei villages
