Book:‘Land of my childhood’ Retold by Clare West

Chapter I read 1-3, pages 1-17

About the book:

 Anura Perera wants to marry the srilankan girl.

 Roads of the village are very dirty and muddy and transportation cannot go inside the
village.

 The inspector of schools did inspection and find out that the children of village are good
at reading and writing than of other schools.

 Mother is dying in India and sister cannot tell to his brother because he is not talking with
his mom since a long time.

 Mother is worried about his son who is quiet and spend time with only his mother and
sister. She want him to face the world and hangout with his friends.

My Experience:

Reading this part of book is quite interesting. It showed being with someone who understand you
make you feel comfortable is far better than a rich men. Village roads are dirty but villagers are
happy when someone from city came to visit them. Education are given more important in
village. Children are more focused at reading and writing than in the field work. Mother is dying
in home country but her son doesn’t care about her because of anger issues make me feel very
bad. Whatever is the situation mother will always be our side but the children they make a one
thing a big issues.
