RE: 2023 SINGA MATH CHALLENGE (SMC)

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are pleased to inform you that our school will be participating in the 2023 Singapore Math Challenge
(SMC), previously known as the Singapore Math Competition (SINGA MATHS). SMC SINGAPORE MATH
CHALLENGE is open to all students from K2 to G10/G11 (Kindergarten 2 to Junior College 1).

We strongly encourage all students to join the competition. This measures the student’s Math foundation
the year before their current level, i.e, Primary 2/ Grade 2 will be tested on the Primary 1/Grade 1 syllabus.
It will be a good measuring tool for your child to test their knowledge of Mathematics concepts from the
previous year.

OVERVIEW
Introducing the Singapore Math Challenge (SMC), where we showcase the best practices in mathematics
learning and provide students with a challenging platform to gauge their skills. Despite its worldwide
reputation, Singapore Math needs constant energy and innovation to remain at the forefront of the field,
and that's where SMC comes in.

Last year, over 20,000 students participated in Singapore Math Challenge (SMC), previously known as the
Singapore Math Competition. Countries that excel in mathematics consistently use international
benchmarks to enhance their academic value.
