Requirements for malfunction recognition: throttle position signal is OK, throttle position value is less than 25 % and kick
down input at Transmission Control Module (TCM) is shorted to Ground (GND) (equivalent to kick down signal).
Short circuit to B+ between kick down switch -F8- and TCM cannot be detected by OBD.

The DTC recognition process includes a plausibility test: the ratio of transmission RPM to engine RPM and transmission
input RPM with the gear currently engaged is implausible. Requirement for test: a driving mode must definitely be selected
(not P or D) or between gate positions and the shift must be complete.

For DTC 00518 / P0121 for vehicle types without CAN-Bus A):
The signal is transmitted in digital form from the throttle position sensor "G69- via the Engine Control Module (ECM) to the
Transmission Control Module (TCM).
Malfunction recognition of DTC 00518 by the TCM is much more sensitive than detection by the ECM. This means that a
brief interruption in the throttle position signal (up to 1 second) is not detected by the ECM, but is registered as a
malfunction by the TCM.
Requirements for malfunction recognition: frequency of digital signal to TCM is outside the permissible tolerance (signal
pulse must occur at least every 30 ms).

This malfunction is pre-set when the ignition is switched on and then cancelled when the brake pedal is pressed for the

For DTC 00529 / P0727 for vehicle types without CAN-Bus A):
Malfunction recognition of DTC 00529 / P0727 by the TCM is much more sensitive than detection by the ECM. This
means that a brief interruption in the throttle position signal (up to 1 second) is not detected by the ECM, but is registered
as a malfunction by the TCM.
Malfunction detection for DTC 00529 / P0727 is based on a plausibility test relating the signal to the fuel consumption
signal (or if not installed to throttle position value).
Requirements for malfunction recognition: Multi-function TR switch -F125- OK, fuel consumption signal or throttle position
signal OK, recognized value for transmission RPM above 200 RPM and 200 ms no engine RPM signal at Transmission
Control Module (TCM).
