Marawi Crisis is one of the Crisis occurred here in Philippines. From the start of the armed clashes in
Marawi City, Lanao del Sur, on 23 May 2017, the ICRC teams have been on the ground to engage with
relevant stakeholders, and to protect and assist civilians affected by the fighting. By the end of
September, the ICRC has assisted more than 100,000 displaced people, working alone or with the
Philippine Red Cross (PRC). The multidisciplinary response continues to meet evolving humanitarian
needs, focusing on the hard-to-reach areas to the east and west of Lake Lanao. The Philippine National
Police activated Wednesday its crisis management committee at the regional and national headquarters
following the atrocities in Marawi City. advertisement PNP spokesperson Chief Supt. Dionardo Carlos
said the committee is tasked to monitor the situation and provide strategic direction to the security
forces on the ground. In a press statement, Carlos said the PNP condemned the latest atrocity of the
local terror group that attacked Marawi City and expressed outrage over their disregard for peace and
life. He said while the operation of the government troops is still ongoing, security forces are in full
control of the situation.
