This installation procedure is written in Japanese and English. The installation procedure for Japan model is described in Japanese and one for the other models is
described in English. These procedures are different from each other. Follow the procedure corresponding to the installed model.

Check that the main power switch is OFF.
1) Turn OFF the main power switch of the host machine. 1) Unpack the Reader Unit.
2) Be sure that Control Panel Display and Main Power Lamp are both turned OFF, and then
disconnect the power plug. CAUTION:
Be sure to remove included parts from the cardboard packaging.

2) When removing the plastic, lift the rear of the Reader Unit and remove it as shown in the
figure.

3) While lifting this equipment one side at a time, remove tapes on the bottom side. 5) Open the DADF and remove the tapes and the package materials.
4) Remove all the tapes attached to the equipment as shown in the figure below.
NOTE:
CAUTION: It is desirable to keep the package materials because they may be used when moving
the host machine.
Do not remove the following parts with tags in this step.

Installation Procedure
1) Affix the Gasket by pushing it against the [A] part so that it is placed inside the marking line
(included with ACC-1 of the host machine).
2) Align the Gasket with the extended line [B] of the hole in the plate, and affix it while pushing
it against the first Gasket (included with ACC-1 of the host machine).
CAUTION: Points to note when lifting down the Reader Unit
• When unloading the Reader Unit, be careful not to pinch the hands.
• When lifting down the Reader Unit, be careful not to trap the Reader Power Supply
Cable.
• When placing the Reader Unit on the floor, be sure that the Reader Support Plate B
is installed.

3) Lift the Reader Unit with 2 or more people, and temporarily place it on the floor. NOTE: Recommended Temporary Placement
• Place the equipment temporarily in front of the host machine.
• When placing it on the floor temporarily, be sure that orientations of the pin on the host
CAUTION: machine and the hole on the Reader Unit are as shown in the figure.
• Because the center of gravity of the equipment is at rear, be careful not to drop it

CAUTION: Points to note when temporarily placing the Reader Unit on the host 5) Mount the Reader Unit from front side of the host machine, and place it temporarily while

CAUTION: Points to Note when Installing the Reader Unit

7) Hook your hands under the Reader Support Plate A to lift the Reader Unit, and insert
• Be careful not to trap cables. the Reader Unit by aligning its holes with the 2 pins.
• Be careful not to break the Wire Saddle.
• Be careful not to break the Dust Collection Cup.
CAUTION:
• When lifting down the Reader Unit, be careful not to get a finger caught.
• Be sure to lift the Reader Unit before aligning its holes with the pins. Dragging the
Reader Unit may damage the cable on the top of the host machine.

8) Remove the Reader Support Plate A. (removed Reader Support Plate A will be used in step
9.) NOTE:
• 2 Screws (removed screw will be used in step 9.) Step 10 is required when installing the PRISMASync Controller. In other cases, the
Reader Support Plate is installed during installation of the Upright Control Panel.

3) Affix the double-sided tape to the Cleaning Cloth Storage Box at a position as shown in the

CAUTION: Execute the Auto Gradation Adjustment to the following 3 modes: [Plain/ Heavy 1/2/3/4],
Be sure to avoid screw holes when installing it. [Heavy 5], and [Heavy 6]. However, when using 2 or more types of paper, it is necessary to
execute all the modes corresponding to the types of paper.
"Heavy 5" and "Heavy 6" are selectable only when the Multi Deck, POD Deck Lite, and Multi-
purpose Tray Pickup Unit are installed.

CAUTION:
• Note that if a type of paper to which auto gradation adjustment is not performed is
used, it may cause negative effects on image or the host machine.
• In the case that both the Color Image Reader Unit and the Auto Gradation Sensor
are installed, select which one to be used in [Select Method] before executing the
adjustment.
• When using the Color Image Reader Unit: Select [Use Scanner].
• When using the Auto Gradation Sensor: Select [Do Not Use Scanner].
• Be sure to use standard type paper to execute the adjustment.

2) Select Settings/Registration > [Adjustment/Maintenance] > [Adjust Image Quality] >
[Register Correction Pattern], and press [Yes].
CAUTION:
It is required that auto gradation adjustment has been executed.
3) Select the destination for registration, and press [Next].
4) Select the paper which is used by the user and press [Next].
CAUTION:
• Select the paper used for auto gradation adjustment.
• If paper has been registered for auto gradation adjustment, select the registered
paper.
5) Select the paper source where paper which is used by the user is loaded and press [OK].
6) Press [Start Printing].
7) Set the output image on the Copyboard and press [Start Scanning].
8) If there are 2 or more papers which either was used for auto gradation adjustment or has
been registered, repeat steps 2 to 7 as necessary. At that time, be sure to register each
paper to different destination. (Up to 4 papers can be registered.)

本体の主電源が OFF であることを確認する。
1) 本体の主電源スイッチを OFF する。 1) リーダーユニットを開梱する。
2) 操作パネルの表示と主電源ランプが消えたことを確認してから電源プラグを外す。
注意 :
必ず段ボールから同梱部品を外すこと。

外した梱包材は、 本体を移動する際に使用する場合があるため、 保管しておくことが望ましい。

注意 : 自動階調補正は、 使用する用紙種類に応じて、 「普通紙 / 厚紙 1-4」、 「厚紙 5」、 「厚紙 6」
ビス穴を避けて取付けること。 の 3 モードから選択して実施する。 但し、 複数の用紙種類を使用する場合には、 それぞれ
の用紙に該当するモードを全て実施する必要がある。
「厚紙 5」、 「厚紙 6」 は、 多段デッキ、 POD デッキライト、 手差し給紙ユニットを装着してい
る場合のみ選択可能である。

8) 自動階調補正で使用した用紙、 登録した用紙が複数ある場合は手順 2) ～ 7) の作業を
