Re: Justification for the Urgent Purchase of 2 Zoom Connections for Education, Training & Research Unit

I am writing to urgently request the purchase of at least 2 Zoom connections for the Education, Training & Research
Unit at the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka. This investment is crucial to effectively manage our training, research, and
remote learning activities across the 15 disciplines and 25+ schools spread over 25 districts in Sri Lanka.

1. Seamless Communication: Zoom provides a reliable and user-friendly platform for conducting meetings,
allowing seamless communication between the Training & Research Division, schools, and other stakeholders.
With 2 additional Zoom connections, we can ensure smooth and uninterrupted interactions, regardless of the
geographical locations or time constraints.
2. Enhanced Training and Research: Our training programs and research initiatives are vital for the development
and improvement of healthcare services in Sri Lanka. Zoom connections will enable us to organize virtual
training sessions, workshops, and research meetings, bringing together experts, educators, and researchers
from different locations. This will enhance collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the overall quality of our
educational and research endeavours.
3. Remote Learning Support: Parallel to the physical sessions, at times lecturers may not be able to physically
attend lectures due to various reasons, such as travel restrictions or health concerns. By having 2 additional
Zoom connections, we can facilitate remote learning, ensuring that students receive uninterrupted education
regardless of the lecturer's presence. This will promote continuity in the educational process and minimize
disruptions. Further, some other units, such as Medical Services and other directorates request Zoom links for
various activities.
4. Cost-Effective Solution: The Zoom connections is a cost-effective method. This approach eliminates the need
for travel expenses, venue arrangements, and other associated costs. By leveraging technology, we can
optimize resources while maintaining parallel physical sessions in the same level of effectiveness and
engagement.

In conclusion, the purchase of at least 2 additional Zoom connections is essential for the Education, Training &
Research Unit at the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka. It will enhance our communication capabilities, support training
and research initiatives, facilitate remote learning, provide cost-effective solutions, and enable us to adapt to
changing circumstances effectively. I kindly request your prompt consideration and approval of this investment to
ensure the smooth functioning and success of our important activities.

Sincerely,
Director (Training), ET&R Unit
