Abstract:
Oral cancer poses a significant global health challenge, necessitating advanced technologies for
early detection, personalized treatment, and continuous monitoring. This paper explores the
transformative potential of the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) in the realm of oral cancer of
the tissue and also presenting a comprehensive overview of IoMT applications tailored for
improved patient outcomes. We delve into the integration of wearable devices, smart sensors, and
real-time data analytics of the cancer tissue to facilitate early detection through continuous
monitoring of oral health parameters. Furthermore, we examine IoMT's role in personalized
treatment strategies, where real-time patient data enables clinicians to tailor interventions for
optimal efficacy. The paper also discusses the challenges associated with IoMT implementation in
oral cancer care, including privacy concerns and interoperability issues. Ultimately, this research
advocates for the adoption of IoMT technologies as a promising avenue to enhance the overall
management and prognosis of oral cancer, paving the way for a more connected and responsive
healthcare ecosystem. In this we make the performance of the IOMT technology for long time
duration for to diagnosis the patients’ health condition.
Introduction
Oral cancer is a type of cancer that affects the mouth and throat, specifically the lips, tongue, gums,
cheeks, and roof or floor of the mouth. If left untreated, oral cancer can be fatal. It is estimated that
4
over 90% of oral cancers originate from squamous cells that line the inside of the mouth, leading
to a cancer called squamous cell carcinoma [1]. To effectively diagnose and treat oral cancer, it is
crucial to have accurate imaging techniques. Multimodal imaging techniques are being used to
improve the detection and diagnosis of oral cancer lesions. These techniques involve the use of
5
various imaging modalities such as computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, positron
emission tomography.
