REFLECTION ON ETHICAL THEORIES BASED ON PRESENT SITUATION IN

MEDICAL FIELD

In today's medical field, ethics, or what's right and wrong, is crucial. Different ethical
ideas help guide decisions.

One big idea is utilitarianism, which says actions should bring the most happiness. In
medicine, this means making choices that help the most people. But sometimes, it's tricky
to balance what's good for everyone versus what one person needs, especially during
health crises. Another idea is deontological ethics. This focuses on duties and rules.
Healthcare workers have a duty to follow rules like getting patient consent. This becomes
important in decisions about treatments or when someone is very sick. Virtue ethics is
about the character of people making decisions. Traits like kindness and honesty matter.
In healthcare, having doctors and nurses who care about patients' well-being is crucial,
especially when building trust. As technology grows, new ethical questions pop up. Things
like using genes to change traits, using artificial intelligence in medical tests, and keeping
patient information private are challenges. We have to find a balance between getting
good from new technologies and making sure we're being fair and ethical.

In the end, fairness (justice) is a key idea. It means treating everyone fairly and making
sure each person gets what they deserve. The medical field must navigate these ethical
ideas to provide good care while respecting people's rights and values.
