American Teen Talks

To begin with, this website was very good. I liked the idea that it is in the form of text and audio, so the
students can read and at the same time listen to the audio. It helps them enrich their vocabulary and
also, learn new things that American teenagers do in their daily life. For example: Michael talks about
playing sports with his friends, fishing, and living in Switzerland; Alex discusses her family’s Thanksgiving
celebration and the traditional foods they eat on Thanksgiving Day; etc. Through these interviews
Albanian students can also learn about different holidays or activities that are not held in Albania. I think
that students can enjoy reading them and it is a very good way to use during the lessons and to discuss
about them. And for Four Skills resources, I found it really useful for teachers to use them to make the
lessons more interesting.

Voice of America

Using VOA articles can help students to improve their vocabulary, critical thinking, reading
comprehension, and at the same time increase their knowledge about global issues or different events.
We can use them for discussion by having students discuss and share their own opinions. Also, pre-
reading can be used. This can be done through a brainstorming and get students engage in the topic.

Project Gutenberg

While searching for the most popular books I found many interesting books. For young learners I might
be able use books such as: Peter Pan by J. M. Barrie; Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll;
because these are books for young people and they may be more understandable for them in terms of
vocabulary and they may be more interested in reading them. And for teens I might be able to use
books such as: Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka; The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky; because
they can understand the meaning behind metaphors or other literary figures. For students I might be
able to use books such as: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen; The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald;
which are interesting books that most of the students may have read them.
