Educational rights of a child in Kenya

1. The right to free, quality and compulsory basic education.

2. The right to access resources and materials, including digital materials, to support

education.

3. The right to be safe and secure in the learning environment.

4. The right to access information, counseling and guidance services.

5. The right to access special educational services for children with disabilities.

6. The right to access health services, including mental health services and sexual and

reproductive health care.

7. The right to protection from exploitation and abuse, including from child labor, early and

forced marriage, and female genital mutilation.

8. The right to participate in decisions that affect education, including through student

councils and other forms of student participation.

9. The right to access vocational and technical training.

10. The right to express opinions and participate in activities in and outside of school.
