    Don’t like + ing

    We use like to talk about things or
    people which we enjoy or feel positive
    about:
    I like swimming before breakfast.
    He likes telling jokes.
    like+ing. Form.

    I like + verb + ing


    Verb - play
    I like play+ing. = I like playing.
    Exceptions. Doubling.
    We double(2x) the final letter when a
    one-syllable verb ends in
    consonant + vowel + consonant.*
    stop - stopping
    rob - robbing
    sit - sitting
    Exceptions. Doubling.

    beGIN - beginning
    preFER - preferring
    Exceptions. NO Doubling.
    We do not double w or y at the end of
    words.
    play – playing
    snow - snowing
    Hate + ing
    We use hate to talk about things or
    people which we don’t like or feel
    negative about:
    I hate swimming before breakfast.
    He hates telling jokes.
