About Story and Author :
“Pratap Goes Shopping” is a story of child’s phychology where we can
find a profound character depiction of a boy named Pratap who was
reluctant to go for shopping with his mother and how was he forced to
do it. Actually the writer Nicholas Horsburgh presented the story in
such a dynamic way which gained popularity from that time.
Nicholas Horsburgh is the author of books such as New oxford Modern
English and dynamic, driven real estate professional who has achieved
his success through hard work, innovation and personalized service.
While reading the story, readers are being taken to the world of fantasy.
Characters of the story:
A boy – named Pratap (protagonist of the story)
Mother- Pratap’s mother
Father- Pratap’ father
Shop keeper at super shop
People- customers of super market
A girl- salesgirl at the counter of super market
At the very outset we see a very studious boy named Pratap desired to
stay at home to finish a book but he was forced to go for shopping with
his Mum. With a very gloomy mood he went for shopping but he was
not enjoying it so he took some unnecessary items in the trolley which
made his Mum angry and out of anger she called urchin to Pratap which
means a boy on the street but being an un experienced one he didn’t
understand it rather he thought he was called an ancient woman’s chin
so Pratap became cross. But when they were at home and talked to
Pratap’s Dad he cleared the matter and Pratap understood his mistake
and all of them laughed at this incident.
