DESIGN PROBLEM
Knowing that most Filipinos are considered business-minded, whatever foods or

items we can conceive will be profitable. Street vendors selling their wares are popular

as a result. People are swarming the area, particularly those who enjoy purchasing food

to take with them when going on walks. Many street vendors, especially those starting

small or operating in urban areas with limited space, struggle to find affordable and

adaptable spaces to sell their products. Due to the large number of vendors that set up

shop on the sides of the road, there will be an issue with the space they take up, which

can occasionally result in traffic, the area designated for parking, and the rubbish

dumped on the road, which results in an amount of solid waste that will impact the

area.

OBJECTIVES

To address this challenge, the task is to design a reconstructable food stall made

from lightweight materials that vendors can easily transport, set up, and customize. The

primary aim is to provide a cost-effective and flexible solution to enable a wide range

of vendors to establish a presence in different locations. The design intends to qualify

the stalls and space for the street vendors so that both consumers and sellers would

benefit from improved circulation, space, and hygiene.

1. Accessibility: Make it easy and affordable for vendors with limited

resources to acquire and operate the food stall.

2. Flexibility: Enable vendors to adapt the stall to various locations,

menus, and business needs.

3. Durability: Ensure the stall is built to withstand frequent assembly and

disassembly while remaining stable and safe.

DESIGN CONCEPT

The food stall is designed into a reconstructable space from light weight

materials. The exterior finishes will be built with metal sheets because it enhances

architectural ideas by giving a building broader design and functional components.

Aesthetic functionality defines its core, featuring a metal sheet awning supported by a

sturdy corrugated metal bar frame, the metal sheets are also recyclable and can save

energy costs, making them a cost-effective option, while galvanized iron (GI) sheets

create a robust, weather-resistant roof. This adaptable, strong, and beautiful material

has the potential to improve the stalls significantly. High thermal insulation is provided by

polyurethane sandwich panels, which also ensure that your building will be durable and

long-lasting by preventing issues like mildew and humidity brought on by heat

movements and condensation. Inside, the eco-friendly allure of a bamboo countertop

adds a natural charm and sustainablity. Finished in warm gray hue, this design

embodies both modern elegance, offering versatility in a unique eco-friendly space.

Overall, the design concept revolves around creating an innovative, adaptable,

and sustainable food stall solution that empowers vendors to contribute to local

economies, overcome spatial limitations, and adhere to environmental responsibility.

The designed stalls will have efficient space-saving design and appealing and aesthetic

interiors, environmental protection, and minimal running costs in the future. Several

characteristics have been integrated to reduce mechanical energy use and increase

indoor daylighting system costs. This design embodies principles of mobility and

efficiency, providing a platform for small entrepreneurs to thrive while promoting

sustainable practices.
