“Strength is always with Unity”

It was my first time being in an FDG (Focus Group Discussion), so it was an unusual and
a new experience for me. Different groups of people were get together in person with a
speaker, note-taker, and facilitators. As one of the note-takers, clarity, and uniformity is
important because I was the one to take notes on all the responses of the people
involved. I was assigned to the 'middle ages' group of Baranggay Tulay na Lupa. Given
the age range of the group, I thought it was going to be easy to take information out of
them, however, it was not what I expected. At first, the discussion was very awkward and
dull. There are only a few individuals who are participating and the same one who keeps
answering the questions being asked but when the discussion continues and some late
participants showed up, the people get more comfortable seeing their “ka-barangay” in
the same group. They started to open up more about their knowledge and personal
experiences in their village. While observing them in the corner of the room, I noticed
how close and united they are. The sight of how the people look for one another you can
see how they live in harmony. As they mentioned, people support one another and offer
both resources as well as moral support when necessary. They can attain greater goals
and success in their village when they work together as a team. How they envision their
village developing to become a town in the future. The proverb "Strength is always with
Unity" serves as the quintessential illustration of their relationship. Their many accounts
and personal connections have shown that solidarity always leads to a peaceful and
contented life for all. everyone.
