1 SCOPE
This specification covers the minimum requirements for the following communication
equipment. The equipment shall be furnished, installed and tested in accordance with this,
specification and applicable standards.
1) Paging system
2) Telephone system
3) LAN system
2. CODES AND STANDARDS
Communication equipment conform to the Standards of the country of origin.
3. DOCUMENTS
All documents and drawing shall be written in English and drawing sizes shall be of A-series,
namely AO, A1, A2, A3, and Ad. The metric system shall be used as the unit of measurement.
Following documents shall be submitted as a minimum.
= Specification and catalogues
- Outline dimension drawing with weight
- Terminal box drawing including dimensions of terminals.
- Data sheet(s)
- Surface preparation and painting specification
- Schematic diagram of control wiring including terminal connection diagrams
- Foundation drawings including anchor plan
- Name plate drawing(s)

The communication equipment may have possibility to be exposed to following site
conditions,

Humidity Maximum 100 % (Design base 79 %)
Ambient air temperature: 16°C - 37°C
Atmosphere : Highly corrosive, sally, dusty and chemical duty area

PAGING SYSTEM
DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
‘The paging system shall provide handset station & speaker paging communications required
for the operation of METOR-EXPANSION plant. Personnel shall be able to access the paging
line from a handset station located in the plant areas for the communication with another
station(s). The system shall provide a page-intercom system with minimum one page and
single party line channel. The party line conversation will not be transmitted over loud
speakers. Each station shall be capable of originating and receiving communication by
‘switching to either @ page or party channel. Handsets and speakers shall be provided and
installed in plant areas. The speaker amplifiers shall be sized to provide the sufficient output
power to the speaker load. Equipment to be provided shall consist of, but not be limited to,
the following major items:
- Handset Stations
- Outdoor Speakers,
- Mounting Brackets

- Control Station
- Indoor Speakers

1) Both control rooms (the existing and new) shall have one control station.
2) Control stations can switch between the two zones that are Zone 1=the existing plant,
Zone 2=new expansion plant.

EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATIONS
General
All materials shall be standard items designed and constructed for reliable service and rated
for continuous duty. Electronic devices shall be solid-state and modular. Equipment shall be
mounted in enclosures that shall provide physical protection and electro-magnetic shielding.
Control Station
Control station shall be desk top type or wall mounted type and shall permit communications

Outdoor Speakers
Outdoor speakers shall be reflex horns. The speakers shall be designed to provide high
speech intelligibility under adverse noise conditions. Construction shall include weatherproof
homs with airtight, weatherproof andlor explosion proof drivers. The materials and finish shall
provide maximum immunity from wind, rain, humidity, salty air and other destructive elements.
Mounting Brackets
Outdoor speakers shall be provided with a mounting bracket. The mounting bracket shall
pemmit alignment of the unit.
Amplifiers
‘Amplifier shell have a sufficient output power to drive a speaker. Distortion, input impedance,
frequency response ete. will be manufacturer standard,
Handset Stations
Handset stations shall be industrial quality common-talking stations of a modular design.
These stations shell be housed in dustight, weatherproof enclosures for non-hazardous
outdoor locations. Explosion-proof type handset stations shall be provided for hazardous
areas. indoor type stations shall be provided in the buildings.
Indoor Speaker

Line Balancer
One unit may be installed in each system, which is designed to properly load both "Page and
Party Line" circuits.
POWER
Primary power source will be 120V AC +/-10%, 6OHz +/-10%.
INSTALLATION
Microphone stations will be installed in the control room.
Loud speakers and handsets shall be installed in the plant areas and substation.

Telephone System
It shall consist of intemal telephones and direct telephones. intemal telephones are
controlled by the existing PAXB in METOR PRODUCTION BUILDING. Telephones are
provided in the buildings of control building, substation and maintenance office &
shop(MO&S). Feature of system shall correspond with the existing PABX, Ericsson Model
BP250.
Equipment to be provided shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following major
- Push button telephone
The existing main distribution frame (MDF) and the oxisting PABX in METOR
PRODUCTION BUILDING will be used. Contractor shall be connected to these existing
faciities

Dial Telephones
Dial telephones shall be desk-top andlor wall-mounted, push button style with a twelve (12)
button Dual Tone Multiple Frequency (TMF) pad
The phones shall be designed with DTMF dialing that shall be two (2) sinusoidal signals, one
(1) from a group of three (3) frequencies and one (1) from a group of four (4) frequencies.
Ringing and tone characteristics shall be in accordance with local telephone authority
specifications.
INSTALLATION
Telephone will be installed in the building of control room, substation and MO&S.
LAN SYSTEM
DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
Remote Ethemet racks shall be linked with the existing Ethemet switch in METOR
PRODUCTION BUILDING by a 6 strands multimode optical fiber cable and shall be installed
in CCR and MOBS. Necessary /O optical ports in the existing Ethemet switch shall be
provided by COMPANY. The Ethemet rack shall consist of Ethemet switch and Power
module,
EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATIONS
General
Al equipment shall be standard items designed and manufactured for reliable service and
rated for continuous operation. Electronic devices shall be solid-state and modular.
Equipment shail be housed in enclosure to protect against dust, insects etc.
Ethemet switch
Protocol of Ethemet TCP/IP shall be applied between the existing Ethemet switch
and remote Ethemet switch in CCR and MO&S. Physical interface shall be IEEE802.3,
10/100 BASE-T. Cabling shall be UTP CAT 6 and Ru-45 connector. Transmit rate shall be up
to 100 Mbps.
Ethemet switch
Ethemet switch in CCR shall have 24 ports. Ethernet switch in MO&S shall have 48 ports
(there is a 24 ports switch located in the existing "Confiabilidad” building that shall be
installed in the new CCR building, and there is a 48 ports switch located in the existing
Maintenance Shop that shall be installed in the new MO&S building. Both existing buildings
will be demolished before the building of the new CCR and MO&S buildings).36

Power module
Power supply to remote Ethernet cabinet shall be one feeder of AC120V, 60Hz, 1 phase
(UPS power). If additional power sources will be needed, power module shall make or
distribute Inside own equipment and shall have necessary equipment, such as ACIDC
