The SAP Fiori Launchpad

Explanation Screenshot

When you log on to

the SAP S/4HANA
system, the first
screen you see is the
SAP Fiori launchpad.
It gives you the
relevant information
that you need at a
glance and centers
on your needs and
how you work.

To learn more about

how to use the SAP
Fiori launchpad and
what is new with SAP
Fiori 3, follow this
interactive tutorial.

The SAP Fiori

launchpad is a shell
that hosts SAP Fiori
apps, and provides
the apps with
services such as
navigation,
personalization,
embedded support,
and application
configuration.

The SAP Fiori

launchpad is the
entry point to SAP
Fiori apps on mobile
and desktop devices.

The SAP Fiori Launchpad

Explanation Screenshot

Apps or other content

are displayed as tiles
on the SAP Fiori
launchpad. A tile is a
container that
represents an app on
the SAP Fiori
launchpad.

Tiles are used for

launching apps and
displaying them on
the launchpad.

The Home page is

the heart of the
launchpad. It features
tiles that allow you to
launch apps. The
launchpad is role-
based, so only the
tiles allowed for your
user roles are
displayed here.

When you first log on

to the launchpad,
you'll see the apps
and groups or
sections that have
been preconfigured
for you. How the
apps are displayed
depends on your
launchpad
configuration.

There are two options

available:
• the classic
home page
layout: there is

2
The SAP Fiori Launchpad

Explanation Screenshot
one page that
contains your
apps clustered
in groups
• the new spaces
layout: you
have one space
per role, that
contain a page
that contains
your apps
clustered in
sections

In the classic home

page layout, tiles are
usually clustered in
groups which arrange
the content based on
roles.

When there is more

than one group an
anchor bar is shown
on the top. These
groups are then listed
in the anchor bar at
the top of the page.

You can personalize

the classic home
page layout by
changing and
extending content in
the groups. For more
details, see the
tutorial Personalizing
the Classic Home
Page.

3
The SAP Fiori Launchpad

Explanation Screenshot

In the new spaces

mode layout, when
you login to the
launchpad you see
one or more spaces
based on your user
roles. The spaces are
displayed in the
navigation bar where
you can switch
between the different
available spaces.

A space holds a
page. The page
shows you the apps
that are relevant for
your daily work. On a
page the apps are
clustered into
different sections.

The new spaces

layout offers more
flexibility and most of
the options from the
classic home page.
For more details, see
the tutorial Using and
Personalizing Spaces
and Pages.

For the rest of this

tutorial, you will work
in the classic home
page layout.
