BROILER FEEDING PATTERN (part 2)

HOW TO FEED BROILER CHICKENS AND GET THE BEST RESULT

How to Feed Your Broilers

One of the major factors that determines success in poultry is feeding.

Feeding takes about 70-75 percent of your production cost. This means if you are investing 100k in
poultry business, 70k is going for feeding depending on your target.

But most of the times, the money spent on this feeding is not gotten back.

In fact, your birds will eat yet don't give you the result you need.

Farmers often complain of feeding their birds 24 hours a day yet poor performance. That's bad.

The truth is, I've studied Broilers and discovered how best to maximize your production through feeding
management. What your birds need is not 24 hours feeding. In fact, feeding your birds 24 hours a day
after week 4 is the best ways to waste your feed.

One thing you must do is know the quantity of feed your Broilers should eat a day.

Here I'll be giving you my personal feeding pattern and experience that give me the best result ever

I feed my Broilers 18-19bags of feeds in 8 weeks per 100 birds

Let's do the calculation

25,000 (25kg) x 18 bags of feed

That's 450,000 (450kg)

Now divide this by 100 birds

You have 4,500 (4.5kg) of feed per bird.

This means each bird takes 4.5kg of feed at 8 weeks.

And, this feeding pattern has given me 4.7kg highest weight. 3.9kg average weight.

Unbelievable right?

The secret is not feed consumption but conversion.

My broilers eat 1kg starter feed and 3.5kg finisher feed.

100broilers eat 4bags of feed at 3 weeks (25kg x 4) thats 100kg

Divide this by 100 you get 1kg per bird.

Now here's what I do

From day 14 I build my birds for feed conversion. This I do by making them hungry for at least 2 hours
during the day. I serve them feed by morning the quantity that'll be enough to last them till 2pm. Their
feeders are empty from 2pm to 5pm then I give them feed again. I give them light at night. Even though
they finish the feed, they walk around and are active through out the night.

From 2 weeks, 100 Broilers takes 7kg of feed a day

3.5kg in the morning, 3.5kg by 5pm

That means 70g of feed per bird a day

35g morning and 35g by evening

In-between when they don't have feed, I give them vitamins.

Mostly I give them the 3-in-1 antibiotics plus boosters and vitamins. It does the three works combined.
I maintain this throughout the week until they turn 3 weeks.

Immediate they turn 3 weeks, I feed them all day

This means i make feed available for them through out the day but night I still give them light even
though they don't have feed available.

Now because these birds used to go hungry, they learned how to digest and utilize the feed very well. If
you know anybody who is involved in fish farming they'll tell you the importance of grooming fishes for
feeding and fees conversion.

Every feed they take from the third week to forth week will be completely converted. Note; their feed
goes wirh feed additives always which helps to enhance their feed conversion and sustain them within
the hours. The feed additive is used from day old.

Immediately they turn 4 weeks, my 100 Broilers takes x2 of their feed from week 2-3. Remember I gave
them 7kg per day.

That means they take 14kg of feed a day. That's 7kg in the morning and 7kg in the evening. I give them
light twice a week at night. From here they now consume 140g of feed a day. Till week 5.

Once they turn week 5, I base them on 16kg a day till 8 weeks full maturity.

16kg divided by 100 that's 160g per bird a day. They maintain this till I dispose them.

Note; they'll finish the first 8 kg before 2pm and will be on antibiotics plus boosters and vitamins or only
vitamins until 5pm when I give them feed again.

Remember:
Avoid feeding your birds during the hot afternoon from 2pm to 5pm to avoid heat stress unless you'll be
around monitoring them and changing their water often once they cross week 4.

They don't eat at night. They sleep soundly and each morning, I see visible changes in them.

If your birds don't rush after you when you enter the Penn in the morning or at ev, then they aren't on
the normal feeding pattern.

If you follow and calculate this pattern of feeding very well, your 100 broilers will consume 18-19 bags of
feeds in 8 weeks and you will see the result.

Note:

The feed additives mixed with the feed and the organic antibiotics plus boosters and vitamins give this
high conversion rate. Don't ask me what's inside the additive I don't know. Those who have used it will
tell you something is wrong with it because the birds eat like gluttons

This doesn't mean you'll be feeding them like gluttons. Maintain the normal feeding pattern and give
them vitamins in the afternoon or the antibiotics preserved with molasses.

The magic is in feed conversion not feed consumed.

In the end, your 100 broilers consumes 4 bags starter feed for 3 weeks, 14-15 bags finished feed for the
remaining 5 weeks.

If you plan keeping your Broilers more than 8 weeks, feed them starter up to 4 weeks.

Please, don't give your Broilers grower. I know some farmers give but I don't recommend that.
If at all you insist on giving grower, 1 bag of starter feed mixed with 2 bag of finisher feed gives you 3
bags of Broilers grower feed.

Give them this for 1 week then switch them to finisher completely.

Exactly 7 weeks and 4 days today (will be 8 weeks on Tuesday) and already disposing them. 4.4kg
maximum weight achieved. 4.1kg average weight
