Greetings of Peace and Good health!
Republic Act 10121 otherwise known as the "Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Act of 2010", Section 2a, provides that "It shall be the policy of the State to uphold
the people's constitutional rights to life and property by addressing the root causes of
vulnerabilities to disasters, strengthening the country's institutional capacity for disaster risk
reduction and management, and building resilience of local communities to disasters including
climate change impacts." Anent to this, Western Mindanao State University Imelda Campus as a
community strives to equip and capacitate its faculty members, staff and students with skills for
disaster preparedness, as a proactive measure against the occurrence of any disasters, may it be
natural or human-induced.
In light of this, the undersigned humbly requests your participation as our resource
speaker and facilitator for the "Campus Earthquake and Fire Drill" scheduled on September 28,
2023, beginning at 1:00PM at the WMSU-Imelda Campus Multi-Purpose Building.
We are hoping for a positive answer to our request based on your concern for the community's
safety.
