Law of Business Organizations

Course Overview:
This module will introduce the legal aspects of business organizations to the students. It includes
basic concepts of companies and partnerships. The legal requirements of formations of
companies, kinds of companies on the basis of formation, liability and capital. The course also
covers basic concepts about the selection of directors, meeting and responsibilities of board of
directors. Certain provisions of the law relating to winding up of companies will also form part
of the course. The later half of the course discusses certain aspects of Partnerhsip law,
differences between Partnership and companies, principles of sharing of profits and losses
between the shareholders and limited liability partnership.
