Overall, this source did help me to understand how controlling Jekyll and Hyde were

towards women, however I found it hard to differentiate Lucy’s character because it isn’t
specifically named in the book. This makes it difficult to get an in depth look on her
character and how she impacts Mr Hyde. Her character is much smaller in the book.
Therefore, this source isn’t particularly useful for character development. Because of this I
will take a look at a Broadway production of Jekyll and Hyde because lucy’s character is far
more well known in it.

I found out that the book portrays Lucy’s character as much more of an unimportant
character that doesn’t affects Hyde’s life as much as in Broadway. In the book Mr Hyde only
meets lucy once, whereas in the musical they have a relationship. This is interesting because
both lucy and Emma are both pivotal points in the musical and both cause conflict between
Jekyll and Hyde throughout.

Personally, this research isn’t the best thing to use, therefore I haven’t really used it as much
and have stuck to looking at musical productions to see Lucy’s character better. The
illustrations have given me costume ideas however I didn’t get a colour. In the illustration
she was wearing a long dress with an underskirt and a corset top with heels. From my other
research I’m guessing it would either be red or green.
