SUBJECT: Understanding Your Dental Plan

The Fulton Community College District sent out a quarterly newsletter early in June explaining
the dental plan benefits offered to all of our employees. The highlights of each plan were
reviewed, and many of you requested further information.
VANGUEARD DENTAL PPO
If you are a Vanguard Dental Plan member, ask the dentist specifically if he or she is a Vanguard
Dental provider and he or she is in the PPO or Premiere network. Your benefits will vary
depending upon the dentist’s affiliation. The table below includes examples of the costs you
might pay with each of the three types of Vanguard Dental providers.

HEALTHGUARD DENTAL HMO
If you are a Healthguard Dental Plan member, remember that you may change your dentist at
any time and as often as you wish as long as your dentist is a participating provider. Other
covered family members do not have to choose the same dentist.
