The form of the song consists of 4 separate measures of different melodic forms, with
words repeating at the beginning and end of the song. The piece contains quarter notes and
eighth notes in varying patterns allowing for familiarity with both note durations. The song is
effective at teaching the major triad as well as do, re, mi at the end. This song is demonstrative of
common melodic patterns and intervals.

The song consists of a variety of different melodic patterns useful for teaching different
common solfege pitches. The song also consists of a game that involves the children moving
with specific actions to the beat of the song with partners, and then switching partners at the end.
This engages the student as a whole and allows them to work collaboratively with their peers
while also working on their own individual skills.

The movement allows for a fun game that involves everyone and involves working
together as a class. This teaches several skills but most importantly communication. It also
teaches coordination and following a “routine” of sorts and identifying when patterns change and
when they repeat.
