A Read Charlie’s description of his favourite city.

Last summer, we flew to Barcelona. It’s a very cool, cultural
city. It’s on the coast and has a port that is visited by big cruise
ships, but mountains also surround the city. The food is
delicious and the weather is sunny!
On the first day we went sightseeing on an open-top tourist
bus. It was a great way to see the city! We saw some curious
buildings that were designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí.
The buildings are colourful and are different shapes. Of
course, Gaudí’s most important building is Sagrada Familia. It’s
an enormous cathedral which was started in 1882 and it’s still
not finished!
The Olympic games were hosted by Barcelona in 1992 and one
morning we swam in the Olympic swimming pool. There are
great views of the city from the pool. Barcelona is also famous
for its football team. We went on a tour of the stadium, Camp
Nou, and while we were buying a T-shirt, we met one of the
football players!
My brother was really happy about visiting the science
museum; it was really interactive. It also had a living rainforest
with snakes, insects and birds. But if you are more interested
in fish, like me, there’s a big aquarium in the port!
On the last weekend we took a train north, along the coast,
and had lunch in a small fishing village. While we were staying
in this area we went to the Salvador Dalí museum. Dalí was a
famous painter and every centimetre of his museum is
covered by his creative paintings.
Barcelona is the perfect holiday destination but unfortunately,
a bag with all my souvenirs and my Barça football shirt was
stolen before we boarded the plane so I didn’t have any
presents to give my friends!
