> Along with the Goods Received Note (GRN) the following documents shall be made available:
A. Purchase order
B. Test certificates
C. Additional Requirement of Material (ARM) (if applicable)
D. Dimension report (if applicable)
> Review Test certificate as per Purchase order or requirement applicable Code , specified in drawing or ARM
No. followed by stamp / sign on test certificate.
> Verification of marking on materials. The following shall be checked.
A. Size / Rating
B. Material Specification
Heat no. / Batch no.
D. Manufacturer's Name / Trademark
E. Third party stamp (if applicable)
F, Project No. / Position No.Dimensional measurement:
Surface quality of plate / flange / forging / tubes / fittings/ fasteners etc.
Plate shall be of good quality. However, on the base of Inspection, if required, plates are to be blasted on both
the sides or one side prior to GRN clearance.
Surface Quality of flange/forging/tube/fittings/fasteners as per ASME Sec-II A & applicable spec.
No welding is permitted on surface, unless permitted by customer with proper documentation (weld plan, Test
Plan etc.).
If any requirement not fulfilled, make discrepancy report.
Based on the Inspection carried out reject or accept the plates / flanges / forgings / tubes / fittings / fasteners.
Record observation on GRN.
Sign / Stamp GRN for further processing.# Level of Testing of Consumable:
Table 1 provides a summary of the levels of testing described below.
> 5.1 Schedule 1 or F. The level of testing shall be the manufacturer's standard. A statement, “the product
supplied will meet the requirements of the applicable AWS, ISO, or other applicable welding consumable
standard when tested in accordance with that standard” and a summary of the typical properties of the
material, when tested in that manner, shall be supplied upon written request.
5.2 Schedule 2 or G. Test results shall be supplied from any product manufactured within twelve months
preceding the date of the purchase order. This shall include results of all tests required for that classification in
the AWS, ISO, or other applicable welding or brazing consumable standard.

5.3 Schedule 3 or H. Chemical analysis of the specific lot of consumables shall be supplied. The analysis shall
include those elements required for that classification in the AWS, ISO, or other applicable welding or bra:
consumable standard.
8> 5.4 Schedule 4 or I. Results of the tests called for in Table 2 for the specific lot of consumables shall be supplied.
These tests represent a consensus of those frequently requested for consumables certification; however, they
do not necessarily include all tests required for Schedule 5 or J. The tests shall be performed as prescribed for
that classification in the AWS standard.
> 5.5 Schedule 5 or J. Results of all of the tests required for classification in the AWS, ISO, or other applicable
welding or brazing consumable standard for the specific lot of consumables shall be supplied.
> 5.6 Schedule 6 or K. In addition to, or in place of, any of the tests called for in the AWS, ISO, or other applicable
welding or brazing consumable standard, the purchaser may require other tests (such as testing after a specified
heat treatment). In all such cases, the purchaser shall identify on the purchase order the specific tests that are to.
be conducted, the procedures to be followed, the requirements that shall be met and the results to be reported
for the specific lot of consumables.Table 1

BASE METAL
The minimum completed pad size shall be at least four layers in height (H) with length (L) and width (WW) sufficient to
perform analysis.
The sample for analysis shall be taken at least 6.0 mm above the original base metal surface.
Notes:
1. Base metal of any convenient size, of any type specified in Table 5, shall be used as the base for the weld pad.
2, The surface of the base metal on which the filer metal is to be deposited shall be clean.
3. The pad shall be welded in the flat position with successive layers to obtain undiluted weld metal.
4, One pad shall be welded for each type of current shown in Table 4 except for those classifications identified by note:-

5. The number and size of the beads will vary according to the size of the electrode and the width of the weave, as well
as the amperage
‘employed. The width of each weld pass in each weld layer shall be no more than 2-1/2 times the diameter of the core
wire.
6. The preheat temperature shall not be less than 15°C and the inter pass temperature shall not exceed 150°C.
7. The slag shall be removed after each pass.
8, The test assembly may be quenched in water between passes to control inter pass temperature.
