The Following tools shall be arranged before starting the job.
Safety requirements tools such as safety shoes, safety helmet, safety glasses, fluorescent vest, and
safety gloves to ensure maximum ability of safe work and dust mask when require Work Method
Statement pdf
BASE FRAME:
Mount all components on to a mild steel angle and hollow section frame.
Prime and paint base with protective undercoat and hammer finish gloss.
VIBRATION ISOLATORS:
• Mount unit on anti-vibration isolators. Construction Water
Pump
Provide non-ferrous braided flexible pressure hose connections in interfaces with pipework system.
Construction Water Pump
Final electrical connections to be made with armored flexible conduit.
SUMP PUMPS:
Sump pumps shall be duty / standby to the sizes shown on the project drains or Schedules.
Construction Water Pump
Sump pumps shall be of the fully submersible type. Each pump shall be complete with non-return
valve and isolating gate valve on the pump discharge. These valves shall be fitted. Above the normal
highest liquid level and in a location accessible from the surface.
Pumps shall be capable of being removed from the sump without any dismantling and without the need
for personnel to enter the sump.
Pumps shall be supplied complete with control panel for automatic operation and auto changeover of
duty / standby pump. Control panel shall have visual/audible alarm and volt free contacts for
connection to BMS where required.
Construction Water Pump
INSTALLATION:
Carry out static checks on electrical wiring settings of all control and safety devices to ensure
conditions are safe prior to start up and running.
• Align and shim level units on prepared bases.
• Fix all units to bases. Horizontal Base Mounted Pumps
Installation
• Ensure adequate space is available around
the units to allow inspection and
maintenance of all components.
FIRE PROTECTION PUMPS:
Pumps shall be stored within well-fitted storage containers with the open ends sealed with
manufactured plugs to prevent the ingress of dirt.
Protect fire pumps and components form physical damage including the effects of weather, water and
construction debris. Horizontal Base Mounted Pumps Installation
Move the assembled Pump set in the common base frame to the Pump Room. Fork lift will be used for
shifting the pump sets to the Pump Room.
Base mounted pumps shall be installed on concrete bases with suitable anti-vibration isolators.
All pumps shall be installed as indicated on the drawings complete with isolating valves, non-return
valves and flexible connections.
Pumps shall be installed fully in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, with particular
regard to venting and permanent lubrication of bearings.
Installation shall be carried out in accordance with NFPA 20; the manufacturer instructions and as
specified herein.
Mark the location of Anchor Bolts as per the Approved
Drawings. Only approved Anchor Bolts shall be used. Rubber pad shall be provided between
the plinth & base frame for vibration isolation. Horizontal Base Mounted Pumps Installation
After the anchor bolt holes have been located, check to ensure that they match pump bolting position.
Then fix the anchor bolts as per manufacturer’s recommendations.
When anchor bolts are inserted in the bolt holes on the plinth, position the pump set on the plinth with
rubber pads in between. Chain block of adequate capacity will be used for the same.
Connect the suction & discharge piping to the pump set header as per the approved shop drawings.
Connect the piping between the pump headers to the pressure switches as per the manufacturer’s
recommendations.
Connect Exhaust pipe from the diesel engine up to the discharge point as per the approved shop
drawings.
Complete electrical & BMS connections to the control panel
& from the control panel to the pumps as applicable
to the project specifications & manufacturer’s
recommendations.
After work completion, inspection will be raised for consultant’s approval & recommendations.
Horizontal Base Mounted Pumps Installation
Base mounted pumps shall be installed on concrete bases with suitable anti-vibration isolators.
All pumps shall be installed as indicated on the drawings complete with isolating valves, non-return
valves and flexible connections.
Pumps shall be installed fully in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, with particular
regard to venting and permanent lubrication of bearings.
Installation shall be carried out in accordance with NFPA 20; the manufacturer instructions and as
specified herein.
Horizontal Base Mounted Pumps Installation VERTICAL IN-LINE PUMP:
Casting: Cast or ductile iron, with suction and discharge gauge ports, casing wear ring, seal flush
connection, drain plug, flanged suction and discharge.
Impeller: Bronze, fully enclosed, keyed directly to motor shaft.
• Shaft: Solid alloy steel with bronze sleeve. Vertical In-Line
Pump Installation
Seal: Packing gland with minimum four rings graphite impregnated packing and bronze lantern rings,
110 degrees C maximum continuous operating temperature.
Performance: As indicated in the schedules and drawings.
HORIZONTAL BASE MOUNTED PUMPS:
Casing: Cast iron, with suction and discharge gauge ports, renewable bronze casing wearing rings, seal
flush connection. Drain plug, flanged suction and discharge.
Impeller: Bronze double suction fully enclosed, balanced and keyed to shaft.
Bearings: Grease lubricated ball bearings, replaceable without opening casing.
Shaft: Alloy steel with replaceable bronze shaft sleeve.
Vertical In-Line Pump Installation
Method Statement for Installation of Water Pumps
CENTRIFUGAL PUMPS:
Primary chiller pumps shall be based mounted direct coupled end suction constant speed centrifugal
types located as shown on the drawings and described in the schedules.
Secondary chilled water circulating pumps shall be of the base-mounted direct coupled end suctions
variable speed centrifugal type with motor and pump body mounted on a cast iron or mild steel
common bed-plate. Centrifugal Pump Installation
All pump motors shall be totally enclosed fan cooled to I.P.
54 squirrel cage type with Class F insulation.
Pumps and motors shall be rated to operate continuously with a maximum ambient air temperature of
50°C.
Direct coupled pumps shall be of the end suction type.
Centrifugal pumps shall have high-grade gunmetal impellers with stainless steel drive shafts. Impeller
casings shall be provided with pressure tappings on suction and discharge.
Centrifugal Pump Installation
Impeller arrangements shall be such that they can be withdrawn without dismantling pipework
connections or disturbing the baseplate.
The pumps shall be. fitted with mechanical seals. They shall be replaceable without stripping down the
bearing system.
