Who might be harmed?

Drivers, pedestrians, workers working nearby, riggers and banksman might get harmed.

Collisions can occur involving vehicles and pedestrians, as well as between different vehicles or vehicles and stationary objects.

These collisions have the potential to cause severe physical injuries, including broken bones, impactful injuries, bruises, and even fatalities, particularly in
cases where pedestrians are involved.

What are you already doing?

1. Qualified and experienced operators are deployed to drive crane and forklift.
2. Pedestrian walkways are separated and identified with yellow paints inside the workshops to prevent potential conflicts with vehicles.
3. Use clear markings, signs, and arrows to indicate pedestrian crossings, vehicle routes, and hazardous areas.
4. Road safety campaigns conducted to all personnel on safe pedestrian and vehicle movement and the importance of staying alert.
5. Speed limit is 40 km/h all around the project, 10 Km in workshops areas, offices and life camp.
6. All vehicles and Heavy equipment are regularly inspected and well-maintained in good working condition.

What further controls/actions are required?

1. Install physical hard barriers to separate pedestrian walkways from vehicle paths and to protect fixed objects.
2. Plan to conduct defensive driving training for all PLI’s drivers by an external training partner.
3. Develop a clear and effective emergency response plan for accidents and collisions, including prompt medical assistance.
